You're right; NORMALLY, he would be a king. But what would he do in a dire, intensely critical situation? One would expect him to come to the queen/king "Princess'" aid. either on Earth or the real world, she would be protected by him, even if he gave his life. Girl of the Dreams shows that in a shifted fashion, since he actually believed she was Aelita.

Haha I really thought you were refering to chess, but that analogy is a good one as well.
As for Jeremie entering a confrontation, I think he would, but he would not last very long in the fight ( although desperate people can pull of amazing feats). there are many reasons, but to me this goes back to how each character is, and I will compare Jeremie as a fighter to each of the other three warriors ( Aelita is excluded because she wasn't a warrior until recently)From what we know of Jeremie, he is not a very good fighter on lyoko, of course this is from lack of experience, but he is also not really meant to fight. that task is carried out by the others.
First Ulrich- Urlich is a swordsman in lyoko, and appears to be pretty capable with nearby objects in the real world. he has honed his mind and body to take blows, as he trains in the martial arts ( Pencak Silat ). He is a little more sturdy and fight aware than Jeremie, who is a bit leaner ( and suprisingly well toned for a man of his talents..... hmmm someone should have rethought that one because he would be lanky.) ulrich also has more muscle and experience.
Yumi- Yumi, when she has had to fight in the real world, has about the same fight potential as Ulrich because she to does the martial arts
Odd- Odd has "street smarts" and the "bob and weave" type tactics when fighting in the real world. he also does a fair amount of dodge and chase, as he has more athletic ability than Jeremie. He is also able to take more punishment because of this.
So Jeremie pales in comparison in the ability to fight as the other warriors can. the best he can do is to serve as a distraction until reinforcements can arrive. I don't see him winning any fights with anything in the real world or in lyoko.

That's why I came up with a template for Jeremie which would suit him incredibly well, since this would be able to stall, and protect Aelita almost indefinately. It also suits him because after a point, it is my belief that he would willingly sacrifice his life to save Aelita from danger.
Allow me to show you all.
Jeremie's Lyoko template was one big issue, which he decided to take in order to increase it's capability. Similar to Aelita via Season 1&2, if he dies in Lyoko, he dies for REAL. That's why he's so scared of the scanners after a point in Season 1 (I'm claiming that he made this as a side project before he found out about the virus, and completed it after the fact), and that's why he'd only use this in very dire situations when Aelita and the others were in extreme peril, since there would be an increase in monsters, because Xana would pass up a chance to destroy the controller.
Appearance: Jeremie retains his glasses when he enters Lyoko, although he is able to see normally and they do not impair him. He wears a light blue-and-white T-shirt, showing off his hands and arms, but not his shoulders. He has green pants with brown streaks along the middle and bottom of the pant legs. On his right wrist is a contraption holding a large circular disc, which swirls white and purple.
Lifepoints: Unlike the three guardians, which have 100, and Aelita, which has 120, Jeremie has 150 life points, in order to protect himself from death and to power his special ability. With so many life points, he can take a Megatank's blast full force, with full life points, and still fight.
Weapon: The Shield Disc. A disc launcher on his right arm holding a 3-foot circumfrence circular disc is not primilarly meant for offense, but for defense. As with all weapons, hitting the target with the disc slices through and destroys them, but his weapon is meant to negate attacks. Any laser blasts striking the shield will instantly disspate, inculding a Megatank's blast and a Block's freezing attack. the shield's length not only protects Jeremie, but also is large enough to protect someone else from the direction the shield is facing, or if the shield is launched, which allows for distance protection.
Special Ability: Healing. Through physical contact, Jeremie can transfer 10 of his life points to restore 20 points to anyone else. Since he knows Aelita is in danger most of the time, his priorty rests with her, unless Zana makes the others capable of death.

That sounds remarkably similar to a design I came up with. Like yours, I made most of his abilities based on preservation, especially of Aelita. I was trying to think of how to work the glasses in, so instead I gave him a helmet with large protective goggles. Also put two metal shields on his fore-arms that can take pretty much anything, and also boosted his life-points. No weapons, since I concidered that since the scanner bases your form around your desires, and his top desire would be protecting Aelita, he's pretty much set up as a human-shield. This is all in a yet to be released fan fic I'm writing so, spoilers

Many stories that I've read show Jeremie as a more Self-preserving charachter, from "Hacked Code" by Franken-XANA (His primary weapon was a shield which could morph into a bunch of different weapons) to "A Monster of a Problem," by Vector Z, where his weapon was a puny blaster pistol, but his armor cut damage in half and he could raise an electromagnetic shield.

At the risk of driving this thread way off topic, I want to discuss the ideas everyone has
First off, all designs mentioned make Jeremie way more powerful than any of the current warriors. I don't particularly think this should happen, even if it is possible ( why make himself so good, when he could upgrade all of the others.) And the ability to defend only is not really a weakness. Jeremie could just draw all of the enemy fire, and in the case of Aurabolt's design, just let odd hide behind him and snipe. Being an uber tank, is way overpowered by comparison.
On the note of the ideas though, I like the idea of the shield disc type defense mechanism, if it were smaller and could barely protect Jeremie, this would require practice and skill, and does not make him an indestructible tank. The idea reminds me of Tron ( a good movie, especially for 1982 Disney.... yeah it is 5 years older than I am, but when I watched it a few years later, I really liked. Some of the concepts in Tron are found in Code Lyoko. I sometimes wonder if the creators of CL had watched or seen Tron.) Anyone else familiar with Tron?

It's a comprimise, not a weakness or advantage. If you've ever played a video game where you can choose your player's stats (can't think of one right now) where you have a limit amount of points to spread accros different cababilities, it's the same thing. What Jeremy would loose as far as fire-power, he gains in defence. But yeah, getting a little off topic. The important thing is that it's fitting of Jeremy's not particuarly violent nature, and care for Aelita that would influence his form.
And of course, Tron is about 'materialising into a virtual world' the similarities are pretty obvious if you havn't seen it, do.

Not to mention that Xana would became much more likely to send out heavier waves and stronger monsters if he knew that Jeremie came in. He'd want to get rid of him as fast as possible, and which Jeremie's design to this character, he can.
That's why it's a little strong. By taking out the ability to return to earth after LP=0, he's made himself more powerful, but also gave Xana a much more rewarding target than Aelita, shielding her on both points. Jeremie prepared for it.

I'm happy you're a big Aelita fan (so am I), but you need stop with the pervy thoughts about the poor girl. To be frank, a couple of unnamed idiots did that for a while, and got in big trouble, and I don't want that to happen again. So, it's perfectly ok to love Aelita (I mean, who doesn't!), and....I can't stop you from having mature thoughts about her, but just....don't post them on here. It ruins it for a lotta people who are trying to the couple innocent. (well...mostly innocent....)

Not a problem man, I just didn't want to say anything just in case that was the case. I have been known to raise some written hell on this board, and I am lately attempting to control myself.
I'm not really in the song business, but other couples, official or hypothetical, that remind me of Jeremie/Aelita are: Renton/Eureka (Eureka Seven), Pazu/Sheeta (Castle in the Sky), Alex/Luna (Lunar Sliver Star Story.), and Harry/Hermione (Harry Potter.) Let's hear some more.

There are four types of couples that exist in anime/cartoons:
The "Shy" couple. They are a JXA type. Two shy people, not really fighters, are thrust into big hectic things, and they come together for comfort and protection.
The "Angsty" couple. They're the ones that never freaking get together, despite the completely obvious fact that they like each other. One guess which CL characters this refers to.
The "Romeo and Juliet" couple. The couple that hates each other at first, but slowly growes to like each other.
The "Happy," couple. The ones that are perpetually happy and stuff.
Lastly, the "Mixed" couples. Examples: SakuraXSauske (HappyXAngsty), OddXAelita (HappyXShy,) and HinataXNaruto. (ShyXHappy.)

I'm personally a fan, if I were to use Sithking's method, or a shy/happy relationship in which both of the subjects would without question stand by one another. You mentioned how shy ones wouldn't fight, but if the significiant one was in danger, the other would come to their rescue/aid.
That is really cute, and is one of the ultimate testaments of caring IMO, alongside fluffy actions such as hugging, cuddling, and just being there, and other factors which branch off, such as events that cannot be explained but which come about by their love and closeness, which I have labeled.
In my system, any relationship which is equally loving, involves tremendous novelty and preservation in it's development, and where the relationshipis developed by choice instead of fate is called a "Life Bond Relationship." Any of the four couples and combinations Sithking mentioned can fit into this category, with enough time.
Shy: Happens much quicker; Jeremie/Aelita, Pazu/Sheeta, Renton/Eureka.

Romeo/Juliet: A life bond relationship of this kind likes each other at points, but will never admit it until they confess. It also works for unrequited love; Kagome/Inuyasha, Sonic/Amy Rose, Vash/Maryl.

Really? I thought "Romeo and Juliet" was the one where two people on opposite sides of a conflict love each other in secret (with the knowlege that if their families find out, all hell breaks loose), only for both of them to end up comitting suicide. Not exactly the relationship you were aiming for.

Just popping in from a long break due to my studies. You would be right Cassius. Romeo and Juliet fall almost instantly in love with each other at a social ( in the R&J movie with leo it is a costume/ masquerade with each costume being a symbol of the character) that the Capulets had. At that point in the play, Romeo is actually in love with Juliet's cousin, but then falls for her when he sees her. I could quote the entire area, but it is not of importance here. Pm if you want the full answer. and yes the Capulets and the Montaques have a feud going on between the families
