LF's policy on bigotry

I'd like to know what the forum's policy on this subject, after BB of C announced his homophobia in BKO.

This I can accept but he then went on to describe all homosexuals as 'abominations' and then cheerfully admitted to beating up a man simply for being a homosexual.

Even though it's BKO, I question whether such intolerance of others is acceptable at LF.

LF hasn't had any previous run-ins with serious bigotry and I've check nearly all of the rule forums and can't find a precedent. I highly doubt though that it is tolerated on this forum, even if it was in BKO.

Bigotry can be considered a form of verbal abuse and abuse is simply not tolerated here.

1. Be Nice Posting opinions is not only fine, but also encouraged. But you MUST keep it mature. If you create a big drama, threads will be locked and users may be banned. No questions asked.

I'm really not sure how saying that you beat up homosexuals is keeping it mature.

I also don't see how it's nice. At all. Homosexuals are humans, just like you. There are several of them on this forum. To say you hate them all, you're just being downright mean. And I don't respect that.

I agree Starway, being a Homosexual isn't a bad thing and to hurt some one for being one is horriable. The BB of C , you should be ashamed of yourself . I have a Homosexual friend at school.

I don't know if we should go the way of banning all discussion on it, but please, moderate the amount of bigotry and nasty words around here. LF is a place where people should be cool to each other, because we're all each others' fellowman (or woman). That's what I've always believed.

I don’t think it is for us to decide what BB of C believes. I mean he is entitled to his own option. But it is for the admins and mods to decides what is to be posted. Summery is the rules say to be nice and mature. BB of C and the rest of us can think whatever we want but should keep in mind the views of other when posting as to not offend anyone.

i guess everyone is entitled to there own opinion ever if everyone elce dose not agree but to prevent anything like this bocoming out of hand i do think that a little bit of moderation is required but we should all have equal freedom of speech IMO (obviously though no swaring outside BKO ETC)

I agree with Jaine and Osiris. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I respect his. The only thing I don't approve of is beating someone up because they are homosexual. That's just going too far.

This is true. Different opinions are just fine...we wouldn't have any discussion on this forum otherwise. But what BB of C posted in BKO (about beating up homosexuals for fun) was rude and out of line.

BB of C...I can see by your latest Sig you are not happy with this decision. I'd suggest you heed StarWay's words though.

Like everyone else ha been saying. Everyone has their own views about life, their own opinions, and their own values. We need to respect them for what they beleive in.
