An issue of privacy...Is that too much to ask?

Postby Shi_Min_Xi » Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:47 pm

Okay, I'm so mad today...
I normally keep my poems in this notebook of mine. Today I left it in a classroom and then these kids come and take it...They start reading it and later they're showing the whole school. Eventually, my guidence consuelor (sp?) hears about this since all my poetry deal with rejection/depression and whatnot and reccomends me to a phsycologist (sp?)...And now...Everyone is on my case...

What really ticks me off was that the cover of my notebook said private and don't read...Is an issue of privacy too much to ask from these boneheads at my school?
Habataku mono wo mukaeru sora/Shihaisareru no wo osoreyashinai/Akogareru mabayusa wa/Subete wo kaeru tame ni/Dare mo yurusazu ni/Doko he yukeru darou?

The sky greets those who fly,I don't fear of being controlled/The dazzling brightness that I aspire for is to change everything/I cannot forgive anyone, where can I go?

I know how that feels. Don't you just hate it? My mom found out I kept a journal and the only way for me to stop her from reading it was to burn it :whatever: .

Oh man, that happens all the time with my sisters. I just keep my notebooks with me all the time! I hate when people go through my private things, but there's really nothing you can do to stop it. That's just the way it is. And if you do have to go to a psychologist, it might actually be a good thing. He/she could help you not feel so depressed and then you could get a better grip on your life.

Right...I defintly want some stranger going through my whole life...I see where you're getting at...But I don't open myself up all that easily anymore...And I really don't want some stranger flipping through my life as if I was a book....

I know how it feels, buddy. Really. I have been there, done that. I am so glad I went to a psychologist. He really helped me out. And he led me on a path that I love being on. I probably could've corrected myself without him, but I'm glad I had his help. It was hard to open up to him, but eventually, I trusted him and soon, everything came out. And it feel much better talking to him about it than just a friend of mine. He can actually help me, and he did. Because of him, I now know what I'm doing with my life and that I have a purpose. Really, psychologists do help.

I dont' know who to consider my true friends anymore...They must've heard about my stuff and yet they did nothing about it and they know my poetry is deep and personal... ;__; and they know I don't want phsycological help for it....

I am just SO glad that I have people I can call my friends, a great family who cares about me, and no depression. I never have problems with like cutting myself or antyhing like that. And, I know this is quite off topic, but, in most of these rants, you kids are talking about how you want to die. Well, I think that's just a little bit dramatic. I'm sure you all have problems, but don't hurt yourself over it! that's ridiculous!

Oh, DD, you poor thing! *hugs* I know exactly how that is! I once wrote a whole bunch of mushy stuff about this group of guys (I had a crush on all of them) and one of the guys in that group found it! I don't think any of them read it because they didn't smirk or laugh. I had lost the book during first period and got it back after 4th! Just remember that it's the losers who butt in that end up getting butted back in the end. ;)

omg.. are you serious?! Mann, that REALLY sucks. I would be sooo embarrassed.

Pfft, people usually don't pay attention to things that say "private." Most of the times that makes them want to read it all the more..

I feel really bad for ya. But life does go on, and I hope you feel better about it. :).

Its a good thing I always drown out anything that I wouldn't want anybody to see on writing with music. That way, I forget what I was just thinking about and I'm not tempted to put it on paper where someone is bound to find it.

That really sucks. I mean whoever would steel you poetry notebook and read it to other people is just cruel. At my school I normally write my poems on a spare scrap of paper, when I do bring my journal the people there would not care enough to read more than three words. I have to ask you, with your poems talking about loneliness and depression do you feel that way?

P.S. I’m sorry I did not sign on last night. Out talk on Thursday must have really taken a toll on me. I couldn’t stay up late enough for my mom to go to sleep.

Aw...with me, it's sorta the opposite...I write/draw stuff and no one cares. (Though most of it's upbeat...)

But, I've encountered people who have experienced the same ordeal you're facing...and as far as the psychiatrist...

Well, do what I'd do and say nothing.

-shrug- I don't trust a human to understand a human. Everything I've figured out about myself is due to my mental insanity. My parents threaten to send me to a psychiatrist, but even if they do, I won't say a word.

^^ Some people see poetry as a cry for help; others see it as a way of curing the pain. Still others see it as a pastime or even a profession.

...Now I'm ranting.

Oh...and privacy doesn't exist amongst students...especially not teenagers. (Or at least the lot I know...)

People are just ignorant these days. Ask my dog; he's the dumbest guy I've ever met (but my sister still "loves" him :guns: ), he's a pretty lovable and funny pup though.

Anyway, I'm terribly sorry to hear that. That's why when I'm feeling down, I get to my computer (the one that does not have internet connection; the advantage of Windows 95 :P) and open a Word document and make a temporal file and type about random things (so random that I don't even know what I talking about, I could be talking about what is bothering me for all I know) and if I think I might need to continue it later on, I save it in a hidden folder. It at least calms me down. It doesn't always make me feel better when I'm peaved off.

Nobody ever finds it, because nobody cares about Windows 95 anymore... maybe the fact that I lock my bedroom door when ever I enter and leave it has something to with it as well. ^_^

That stinks. I hate when people read people's private stuff. You should use Reverse Psychology and write on it-

"Please Read."

...If somebody wrote that on something it would probably spark my curiosity towards it, where as normally if someone wrote "Do Not Read," or nothing, I probably would've just left it alone. Probably. Depends. And that is just me.

Dude, I know how you feel. I keep a journal on the comp, and I had to put a password on it, save it to a disk, and hide it. And if they managed to crack the password, they would have to insert another password to deactivate the virus I put on the disk that I downloaded from the internet. That'll stop them. :wag:

Or you could make up your own language like I did and have a decoder in your pocket if you actually do read it. That's what I did and even though it's the easiest language to guess, nobody's guessed any of the words when I make random things that I don't need people seeing.

Well, I didn't have a decoder, but it was fun, but annoying watch their feeble attempts to read it... where then they tore it up. It was my older brother.
