She might've been a test subject for Lyoko maybe she got transferred there but somehow something went wrong.

I still contend that Aelita's mother's "disappearance" was just the director's artistic interpretation of her death. Moonscoop might do otherwise in the future, but nothing shown at this point suggests it.

I thought the episode could have been better. Just felt like they were trying to make the show more than it should be. I found the episode to be walking the fine line that the third and fourth season will have to deal with - a make or break point for the show.

Also I was thinking Aelita's mom could be trapped in Lyoko with Franz Hopper somewhere, maybe she's helping the Lyoko team too.

As big as that event was, the show really did not change much. It followed the same format, but with Aelita spending her idle time in the real world rather than Lyoko. It was still Xana attack, go to Lyoko, fight monsters, and shut down the tower. Moving Aelita to the real world did add to the team's off-Lyoko life, which was a good thing and an excellent way to maintain the first season format while having something new.

What I'm referring to is what seems like an attempt to make the show more serious than it should be. Although I doubt it will kill the show, it might start testing the suspension of disbelief. This is my opinion and for myself alone. As is, the show is light but with just enough plot and seriousness to make it very appealing. "The Key" felt like they were trying to push past that. When you break that balance, they start treading into an area where people's eyes roll. I still chuckle anytime they mention Xana wants to take over the world.

I have faith in the writers though. They've pulled off two great seasons, and I think they can pull off another two. After the fourth, I think they'll probably be pushing it.

I loved it when they held hands at the end. It proves that their love is what gives them great strength to fight their enemy.

Well if we can't have three yet at least CN is redoing Season two which is great for all of us who may have missed an eppy here and there. I cannot wait for Season three though. Yay! I adore this show (a kids only show geared towards 2-7 year olds?-come on, man! I'm 56 and I love it!) so much that I have added Yumi, Odd, Ulrich, Jeremie and Aelita to the cast of my fanfiction "Xmas with the Dirty Pair" Go to www.fanfiction.net/anime/dirtypair/keimanandkei if you wanna read it. Sorry but the kids don't show up for another chapter or so. I jsut posted Chapter 74 and I'll have Aelita and friends in Chapter 77 I think. I'll let ya know soon. Please read/review/suggest. IT WAS SO GOOD! Man, I've loved almost every ep of Code Lyoko yet. Except for Attack of the Zombies. I hate all of the eps where Odd gets in serious trouble(hence my username/signature).

Darkness Incarnate, I never said anything about loving Odd(I'm a guy). I really like the episodes where Odd goes to Lyoko, especially "Franz Hopper". Since this is a "The Key" thread, though, don't starting about "Franz Hopper" because I mentioned it.

Great ending. Lita dies...again, only to come back. When I saw that I was like OMG! I so can't beleve they just done that! And XANA escaping Lyoko. Wonderful set up for season 3. Great ending too! Yay! Happyness! Unity! etc!
