This morning I recieved an email from DreamHost support which said something along the lines of, "Your site is too popular and it's taking up more than it's fair share of resources. Do something about it."

Sooo... Obviously I can't shut down the forum (which I'm sure is the main attraction to this site) but I will be deleting the image gallery, at least for now.

Getting rid of the inactives should help some of the problem...other than that...Im lost to what you can do.
Couldnt you just pay more a year to get more banwidth...or would it be too much?

Dude... that's why there is a Donations thread around this site. I don't use Paypal... but I would use FedEx or UPS or Western Union to send Erynn some cash... if she's okay with that.

Hehe, this isn't about money issues, it's just that there's so much traffic running around here that it's slowing down the other sites on the DH server. xDDD *mean*
By taking down the image gallery it might reduce some of these problems though, just because people like to hotlink those pics and steal my bandwidth. Shutting down the forum would be like, Plan Z, of course, so don't worry.
Thanks for the compliments on the new layout. I like it too. I wish I were smart enough to make a beautiful layout like this all by myself! But no, I always download them and then edit the parts I'm allowed to (like the banner in this case).
There also seems to be a new little thing installed with this layout (the "add image to post" link)... Enjoy it while it lasts, I guess.

Crap. This happened at Game Maker community. They ended up getting kicked off their host, took 48 hours to move to a new one, then they got kicked off that one, now they're on another, and we have server load too high error messages about 10 times a day. I hope LF doesn't turn into that.

I doubt we'll end up like that, Halo. LF isn't *that* big. 
And like I said, this isn't a size-consumption problem (I have like 120 GB of space, fear me) it's just that there's so much traffic around here lately that the other sites are having issues. xD
And x1, I hadn't noticed that the Submit/Preview buttons were switched... That's strange. Oh well.

on another off topic note, hopefully sometime this week I can get my brother to become a member here. He doesnt live with us (I live with my mom and my younger 9 yr. old brother up here in NE Ohio and my 15 yr. old brother lives with a cousin of ours down in Columbus), but he is coming up this wednesday or thursday for xmas. He is a big Lyoko finatic like me, but I think he is a little scared of forums because ive bugged him numerous times in emails to sign up here, but I have yet to see him sign up.
meh. back on topic. yes, im looking forward to xmas in a way. more specifically, im waiting for income tax time. My mom has told me that she will spend a chunk of her income tax money to get me a laptop (since ive been bugging her about it like crazy). Really its the portability im after. You know how much more workd Id be able to put in my fics if I would be able to work on them ANYWHERE? right now I have to either be on my good computer downstairs (which I rarely get on anymore unless I need physical access to it. Its gotten a bit sluggish over time and im not really at a good point to reformat it. im holding off for a new hard drive first) or the computer in my room (runs great. ive got it cleaned and locked down to where even though its a measely 730MHZ, its more snappy then the comp downstairs.).

Sorry if I offended anyone- that 'Let's Talk Tech' bit was actually intended to poke fun at myself and my overblown ego, and the ff.net thing was meant as a compliment - as in Lyokofreak becoming the focal-point, the crux, the fulcrum of the CL fandom like ff.net is to fanfiction.
