Aww I feel special. :) If you host free-forums, you can have unlimited amount of posts, pictures, that sort of stuff. We'll have to see with JH first though. I love to help out. :D

Tryed it. Free-forums is a little more simple. Plus you have unlimited amount of posts, pictures, etc. Invisionfree lacks that.

I'll host the forum on http://www.chronosgames.com which is my website, I'll also provide the project a seperate subdomain (xana.chronosgames.com). I won't be able to host files though.

Am I like invisible or something? Lol

I'll get the subdomain up tonight or tomorrow, and forum tomorrow.

-Halo

Edit: I need to go to bed now, so the domain and forum come tomorrow. Gnite. (For chats just use the IRC. See siggy.)

Edit: Lookie what I made. Image

I would rather someone who can put the project up on "real" hosting to do it rather than those dime a dozen free forum sites. this atleast gives the project some room for expansion later on. so I personally vote halospree to host the site/forum.

True. Halospree will probably win, IF JH decides for us to make a forum. At least I tried. <_<

EDIT: OMG... my dad has this blocker thing... and I can't go on halospree's website. That means I wont be able to go on the forum. The blocker thing blocks certain websites... (My dad... always treating me like a child) Free-forums, lyokofreak, and others are allowed. God I hate this! If halospree makes a forum... I wont be able to go on it... I'm so sorry.

I think the decision is based on what kind of machine is Halospree has and what percentage uptime it has. Having a forum hosted by a member would be much better then a free one on one of the major hosting servers. It would be more configurable and expandable. But if it is not reliable then I can not say it would be worth it.

If that is true I can always help you to bypass it. Most blockers aren't anything a simple proxy can't bypass.

Or.... you can download a free keylogger and ask your dad to enter the password (or wait till he does himself) and then you can know the password and bypass it yourself! *dirty trick*

or.... you can delete (or move) the executable that allows the program to run, then move it back when you stop having to bypass *another dirty trick that might not work*

Sorry I havn't been here, and yeah, I think we should make another forum on some site or something. Here's my Idea.

I think the researchers should search on the net for a forum (preferablly free, I don't really want to spend much on this!) making site, and get back to us on all of the ones they find, until we find one that's good and most customisable and user friendly. Then, after we unanimously choose one, Halospree will create it on the website.

JeanGray will be the head researcher for the forum finding project.

That's my decision. :D If you don't like it you're fired! j/k :*D

If there's anything I wasn't clear on or a descision that needs my apporval that I havn't answered yet please ask me.

Thank you.

P:S:.

the chat room we will be brainstorming on from now on will be halospree's irc chat, it rocks!!!!! :guns:

Not sure why my site would be blocked. Ask your dad to unblock it, there is absolutely nothing bad on it.

As for the forum, my software is Invision 2.0.3, I personally think it's the best forum software around. It will be hosted on my server, which is not hosted on my computer, it is hosted by DomainsVision. It is IPB full version.

Whatever you prefer, I don't care.

-Halo

Edit: If you need a keylogger to get the password to netmop I'd be happy to create a clean one for you.

I would love one. Tell me how to work it. I'll log-out, then he'll type the password. I'll be able to get the password.

YD... :(

Or you might want to go with the safest way which would be to ask your dad to allow "Games" content.

I think that using an independant hosting solution such as Halospree's server is a better solution because we don't have to deal with any ads or EULA the free forum companies might impose. At the very least I think it should be left up for discussion for thursday's meeting.

Jean: It's probably best to ask your dad to allow the site first, before any rash action is taken.

Say something like this:

"Hi Dad, I was wondering if you could allow the site www.chronosgames.com on the block list on the computer"

"Dad: Could you tell me what it's about?"

You: "Well you know that show I like called code lyoko? Well me and a bunch of other people are making a game out of it. I need to be able to go on that site to help with it."

Dad: "Well why do you need to go on it?"

You: "I need to be able to go on the forums so we can have it organized and discuss it."

Dad: "Ok, it doesn't sound bad, I'll allow it"

Now, I don't know you, so I couldn't really make an accurate siloquy. Use it as a guideline.

I asked him. He won't let me. GRRR!

I just need a keylogger so I don't have to ask him to go on certain sites... he might just lock-up my whole computer >_<

You might want to try a simple proxy first.

Try and see if this works: Here
It uses google's page translator as a proxy.
