heyy dont forrget about me. I would love to help with the project if that is ok with you. And i can do a job that you did not list but you will need. concept drawler. I am an amazing artest and i can come up with nice landscapes, new monsters, costume designs, draw weapons anything you may need. And im not one of the people who does a sucky little doodle in the paint program and then calls it art, i am very elaborite and have to sketch in every little detail. Sometimes i spend 3 to 4 hours on just a little sketch to make it look perfect. I can also do all other jobs (except for the programing ones) like researching info and testing.

o and real quickk i would like to say that on fridays from 3:30 pm to 9:00 pm i am helping out at my karate school so i will not be able to attend the chat rooms on fridays. I would appreciate it if someone would post it on the thread for me to read :D :D :D

ok. I havent really had the time to read through all the pages of this thread, so can someone kindly summarize whats going on here?

needless to say, this has been brought up before on the official CL forums and locked for getting "out of hand". the essnetial idea is that if you are trying to create a "real" Lyoko with scanners and all, you are pretty much SOL and i wish you all the luck in your attempts to do so. now if you have it dumbed down enough to where its simply something similar to a video game, I would say you would have a much better time doing so and would glady like to see you suceed. I see no reason why you couldnt (other than possibly some legality issues with antefilms/moonscoop).

Hey all, I just got here. I'm not really tech savvy but I'd love to be a beta tester.

Some questions about intentions:

- Will this be a game, like an mmRPG? If so, how will it be funded? Stuff like that usually isn't free.
- Will it be complex, like EQ, or simpler and more chat-based, like Puzzle Pirates?

I wish I could do more, but I'm afraid I lack both the time and knowledge to really lend a hand toward the production process.

Good luck!

I don't think Jeremy wants it to be a game, which I don't know why, it's going to end up one anyway, and it would make all our lives easier...

Looking into more programming options >.>

Hoo rah!

I'm sick of being bored. So it's either draw all the members of FSp starting with Ember'sSaneSister, or this.
PLEASE MAKE IT THIS!

It could be something like Habbo Hotel, maybe?

I mean, wouldn't it be awesome to have somewhere on the net to go and just hang out and chat with Lyoko fans in Lyoko? Or maybe, become one of the Lyoko kids (an outside character, if you will) and hang out in the 'game' and there could be an earth world, too, with the school grounds and stuff.

Perhaps something along the lines of Gaia, which functions as both a game (which earns you virtual dollars which you can spend on customising your avatar) and message board (which can also earn you virtual dollars) but then there could be a Puzzle Pirates / Habbo Hotel aspect where your avatar can go into real-time chat.

Like I said, I know nothing about programming and I have no idea what sort of toll this would take on a server. As a computer user, I know what I like and I guess that's why I'm here as a beta tester.

Err... we're not even close to being that far. Hold your horses. We want to at least make it first before we think up marketing ideas for it ^^;

I personally think it'd be a horrible mistake if it turned into something like Gaia. PERHAPS a mmorpg, but think about it. We've got like, what, a couple of programmers and a bunch of people with ideas and nothing better to do? It'll take a long time before we even finish, let alone let it become something big like that. And remember... nobody's paying for all this!!

Actually, now that I think of it, I have no idea what everyone's talking about now.
Just sign my brain up for brainwashing... erm... Testing.

And in I come. Late. ^^;;;;; OK. Personaly, I don't think it should be an mmorpg, I think it should be an RPG. Something downloadable, mabey? And I think that your charecter should one of the Lyoko gang. And, we could have random attacks! Like, the standered animation could be Jeremy waking up to a beeping Superscan screen. then something terrible happens, E.G a possesed Sissy busting down the door, specters poping out of all the lights, giant teddiebear, etc. And, would be possible to have voices? I don't think that that would work, though. Unless someone here can do really good Lyoko gang impressions, it wouldent work... I also have ideas for tons of other stuff, incase you want to hear it.

EDIT: I'd be super happy to test, also. This thing is going to be SUPER NUCLEAR. *shot* EDIT 2: I also have a mic, and can voice act. Incase we do voices. WAIT, IDEA JUST HIT: What if you could play an extra member of the lyoko gang, and pick boy or girl at the beggoning? Then, we could voice! A generic (That is to say, just one voice) girl and boy voice.

I think he means programming language here. and I would highly recommend going with C++ if you want to do something from scratch. but if you are not into programming, I would look into an already built "engine" that you can build off of.

Halospree and I both believe TrueVision 3d would work, though I think we should use TV3D with Visual Basic. I already got VB 2005 Express installed and started going through the first few tutorials. Though I'm not going to be able to put any major effort into it for a couple of weeks since finals are coming up. Not sure what Halo thinks. If we plan to create this, it will be a long time to do it. We are only doing this on our free time, are only loosely organised, and we're not getting paid to do this. Not to mention, many of us have little to no actual knowledge of how we're suppose to create this thing. So I'm thinking if we're in it until completion, this project could take months or even a year to finish.

It doesnt matter how long it takes. It could take 3 years for all we know! We need commited members to take on such a challenge. Since we have few programers, everyone else must work their best to supply them with all the information they need. As for not knowing exactly what were doing, i say we should first make lyoko before we decide what we are to do with it. I will start drawing out the lyoko landscapes if that is ok with all of you. I think i will start out with the desert reigon since it seems like the easiest to make. If you guys dont mind could you maybe find me some good pictures of the different regions. Maybe some pictures of the regions as the gang is traveling through it in the transporter since they get good shots of the landscapes. Once i finish with the desert region i will move on to the mountian region, then the artic, next the forest, and finally sector 5. After all that i will work with the monster designs for the old monsters then move on to the new ones. So if anyone has anything else they may need me to do i will galdly take on the task.

If all goes well i should get a region done a week and after that a monster about every half a week. I know i am probally planning too far ahead but we need to start somewhere and if we get some concepts down now, we will have time to make them even better later. After i am done with the landscapes and monsters i might move on to characters, costume designs, and weapons. Again, if anyone has any requests i would love to take them.

I don't know the sligntest bit of VB but I'm trying to learn for this. I agree that TV3D will be the way to go but I need to learn some VB first. Do you know how to do sockets (online) in VB?

We need as many programmers as possible. We only have 3.

Wrong! We need to make the engine before we make the level design.

Though I personally thank you for the effort, but we're still in the planning stages. You're getting ahead of yourself. If you would still like to do this, go ahead, but beware that the plans may change by the time we are making the landscapes.

I think I might be able to get alot more programmers... I go to this one forum, and a ton of people there can program. Really good, too. There's just one problem: I'm not sure if any like Code: Lyoko. ; - ;

Sorry guys if i really am getting too far ahead of myself. Over the past few years i have been working hard with my art teacher during our free peorid every other day at school on various projects. She has taught us to always have concept drawings handy so we have an idea of what were doing, or even as a glimpse of what the final result should look like. I think the monster concepts are way too far off but it would be nice to have the landscapes done soon even if we end up changing them. I think i will put the monsters off for a little while.

I started playing in VB and decided that the syntax is <censored :cussout: >

I think we should use TV3D with C#.
