I know how you feel. My Grandmas Brother died of a stroke a few months ago. He had stopped in a gas station parking lot to take some medicine before his usual pottery rounds. (he was a potter) Then he had a stroke. They found him a few hours later. He was in a deep coma. The day after fathers day was when they were supposed to pull the plug. he died that morning. I hope your grandma gets well soon.

Man.. I feel lucky to still have both my grandmothers and great grandmothers still alive. I'd feel really crappy if they died. Well.. when they die... um.. *does not want to think about that*

I know how that goes. That's how it was for my mom the last week she was alive. It sucks, but what you have to keep in mind is that they'll be at peace, and they'll always watch over you.

Sorry to hear that, man. I hope you can deal with it the best possible way. But it won't be easy.

Let me tell you about the last worthy member (from my point of view) from my family that has died (the other ones that have died aren't much important to me, or I didn't knew them well).

At July 26th, 2004 (two days before Peru's independence day). 2:30am, my great grandfather died. I didn't knew that at the moment because no one didn't called to my house and announced that disgraceful event. By that time, I was playing GunBound. Fell asleep at 3:30am.

7:00am, I woke up again due to the fact that my mother was crying badly, and because the phone ringed. My brother went into my room and with a deep voice (he was sick) told me about his death. I was like "What the f**k?" and stood in bed for like an hour, just doing nothing and staring at the wall of my room.

To calm myself down, I read the 3rd Harry Potter book (by that time, the 3rd movie was going to air, so one friend gave me his book so I could understand the movie better). The was very calm and the weather was weirdly good (opposite of winter).

At the funeral, it was calm. Remembering him, telling jokes about him, remembering his quotes, that stuff...

In the end, I was calmed down. I knew he was going to die anyway (suffered some breathing problems before his death). I knew he lived life, enjoyed it, had a family, wasn't evil (a reason why I did respected him, unlike other members from my dad's family), got wasted (well, he lost his speaking capacity by falling from the stairs and bumping his head that way like 3 times)... well, the cycle of life.

My great grandmother is still alive. 94 (or 95, I'll edit that later) years old, hopes she makes it to 100 and more.

Anyways... my grandparents (since the topic has more tendency about them).

From my dad's family: grandmother alive. I've never seen my grandfather, and I don't care for him (f***ing b****rd abandoned my dad, so I don't mind).

From ym mother's family: grandmother and grandfather alive.

I don't know yet what's the feeling of losing them. I suppose it would be awful.

My aunt's mum had a stroke and died of it, i only guessed what happened when a friend of mum's came round one day to tell the bad news.

I'm really sorry to hear about that. My great-grandmother had a stroke in August but she recovered and is doing well. I know how you feel about losing a family memeber. When my other great-grandmother died, I was really too young to understand, but when I got older I asked my parents about it. Now I realise just how much I miss her. Don't worry. We'll all be here to support you.
