The very early, very Lyoko holiday topic

Postby Lyoko Wario » Mon Nov 16, 2009 11:04 pm

This isn't in the CL Discussion board because it doesn't relate to an aspect of the series itself.

I know the holidays aren't quite that close yet, but both the weather and the spirit feel like they came pretty early on this year. For me, there's some kind of fundamental link between the holidays and Code Lyoko that seems to have formed itself about four years ago, because of a lucky combination of events: I got to go see my relatives down south where we played lots of incredibly stupid Internet games and video games, my best friend hadn't gone away to join the Navy yet (she was a big Lyoko freak too, but I daresay I think I'm bigger), and one night in late December I had the most awesomest dream I've ever had in my life, a remarkably long and lifelike dream where I got to hang out with Aelita, be friends and talk about stuff with her. I've never forgotten that.

Of course, Code Lyoko was still going on in full force back then and there were still tons of new episodes left to go; I remember I wanted to join the official CL forum but didn't because of the mad amount of personal information they require you to give out (I wound up joining a much cooler one after a while, wink wink). I remember looking forward to Miguzi every weekday to see more awesomeness and feeling bad on the day when I was supposed to come along with my family to show my cousins around town (I love the show so much that I actually felt disappointed to have to meet with relatives I had literally not seen in years!). But that was also the very night the novel I ordered online, Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit?, came in the mail, so I guess that wasn't so bad, since I'm also a huge Roger Rabbit fan, in case you still didn't know.

Share holiday stories. Share Lyoko stories. Share Holiday Lyoko stories. Go crazy. Let's look back on good times together.

This will be my first Holiday with Code Lyoko... I feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

I think we should stock up on some eggnog, turn all the tree's in the forest sector into christmas trees, and have ourselves a very merry Lyoko Holiday season.

Hm... how could we do that...

We need ideas people

That would be the best and worst Christmas present ever. I want it and I don't want it.

I still remember my first Christmas at LF at the tender age of twelve...we had a special holiday forum layout, and I remember a thread about what presents you would give to the kids. I wasn't old enough for BKO then, but I'm sure they had a rip roaring good time drinking eggnog and such. It was wonderful. But other than that, I don't really have any Lyoko holiday stories. I think Distant Memory took place over a Christmas break, considering they were giving out presents...it's kinda disappointing we don't get to see any major holidays with them, because La Toussaint overlaps with Halloween and on major holiday breaks they go home. But that also means Aelita got to spend Christmas with the Belpois family. WHY OH WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO CUTE. Maybe I should write that fic as a reference for Five...

Lyoko stories in general? Well, me and some of my friends are planning a "nerdfest" over Thanksgiving, and I'm going to bring some CL to torture people with. Also, I really want to revive the Let's Chat Characters thread, just so I can figure out personalities some more.

What is that thread?

we just need to make sure that moonscoop is good at diffusing bombs, so to speak.

If only they had a christmas-related episode of CL.

A Christmas Carol parody with Jim as Scrooge would be hilarious.

Too bad you can't multi-quote on this forum.

Anyway, Carth: I think it's awesome that you were a part of the fandom as far back as when you were the same age as early-seasons Jeremie and Aelita! I didn't start liking CL until I was fourteen, and already as old as the oldest member of Team Lyoko. Anyway, I'd love to go to your Thanksgiving nerdfest if such a thing were possible, but excuse me if I don't watch your "Aelita spends Christmas with the Belpois family" episode. I would get jealous! I want Aelita to spend the holidays with me, dangnabbit!

Well, we did meet in that dream of mine. It's embarrassing, but I still wish for more dreams like that almost every night. Maybe I should share my dream...

Oh, heavens, yes yes yes! Jim is Scrooge, Aelita is the Ghost of Christmas Past, Odd is the GoCP, and XANA (specter form) is the GOCYTC...

Jeremie can be Bob Cratchit, because Jim always forces Jeremie to work extra hard in phys ed. But which roles should the other characters have?

Now that I think about it, Jim himself would make a pretty good GoCP...

I once read a JxA-centric Christmas fanfic.

Granted, it was a lemon, but it's the thought that counts, right?

No asking for links, FF.net already baleeted it
My SN is spelled Feld, not Field. Keep getting it right, Carth.

I actually know the exact time... to the minute, that I discovered CL...

The only problem with the Scrooge Tale is that not every character would get a role.

It's going to be a very merry Lyoko Christmas this year... kind of a precursor to what I am planning to be "The Year of Code Lyoko"

Hee hee hee... I hope this starts a new forum tradition! :D

And we can make the Christmas Carol / Scrooge Tale work with every (main) character, we just have to get creative.

For instance, Scrooge has a nephew who invites him to a feast with his family, right? Hello, Chris from the Subdigitals!

We don't have to follow the story exactly. This can just be a retread of ACC set in the Lyoko universe and timeline.

If you need help writing up the story, Searching, send me a PM. I'd love to contribute.

Here.

Well, even if there's no story, I really dig your enthusiasm, bud. We need as much of it as we can get around these parts.

Do you mean the scrooge tale?

Oh... well... I meant the actual Charles Dickens' book, because I forget it's name (so ashamed...)

But I would love to write a Code Lyoko holiday tale! (or maybe a series so we can get all the characters in)

We can all pitch in on it, it will be just like our own Code Lyoko Holiday Group Activity!

...Now I sound like an elementary school teacher...

Yes... XND and I have been brainstorming.

There are these ideas so far. I'll probably end up doing most of them.

-Scrooge
-The Night Before Christmas
-The Grinch (starring Kiwi as the dog with the antlers)
-Frosty the snowman? Maybe?

I'm still down to write at least some of the story if you guys want me to.

How will we celebrate the holidays in a distinctly Lyokan way once they finally roll around? We gotta make it special! :)

I'm going to assume this is the yearly LyokoFreak holiday thread.

Usually, I've seen <S>be thankful to the people we killed day</S> Thanksgiving and Christmas threads separated, but I suppose it's different this year. <S>mommycanigetcaptainobvious'autograph?</s>

Hmm... I remember a Hannukkah story about a guy who saves his village by tricking a bunch of Hannukkah-hating demons or something. It was a little storybook and I'm not even sure if it's a "traditional" story (not to mention that I read it a long time ago), but there were these demons that hated Hannukkah and tormented the citizens of a small village until this guy shows up, goes up to their shack on a mountain, and gradually helps them appreciate the holiday... I think he tricks the biggest demon into lighting the candles or something.

Also, I fully support the Eye of Xana Snowflake idea.
