It's Code Lyoko's 6th Birthday!

Postby Rho » Thu Sep 03, 2009 5:32 pm

Just realized this.. Six years ago today, Code Lyoko made its world premiere on France 3 (i think that was the channel, at least)

While it isn't the English version, the French version is the original, and this was the world premiere... So that's make it the most notable.

Six years and still going (somewhat) strong.

We should do something special.
Six is a pretty important age, it's means you're old as hell.

My friend Elizabeth has officially abandoned the fandom, so I surmise that she wouldn't care. ;__;

That being said, WOW. I thought it was only around four years old. I also sorta wish its birthday were June 6 (for obvious reasons).
thank you all for the good memories <3

Nice.

Happy birthday, CL. Man, think about it. Weren't Jeremie, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi 12, 13, 13, and 14 respectively when it started? If it really has been 6 years then they'd be 18, 19, 19, and 20. Wao

Wow.
All of them would be partially legal.

… Ohohohoho.

Wait, I'd still be illegal… FML.

Er, ON ANOTHER NOTE. Six years? Wow...the story's always seemed sorta young and ageless to me. That, and 2003 is farther away than I thought it was...

Here's to you, CL, for making me feel old, for making me feel young, and providing me with some of my first friends with your fantastic fandom! *raises a glass of blue stuff*

Code Lyoko, you formed a major part of my life for quite a while, and introduced me to this close-knit fandom community that is made of awesomesauce people. Congratulations on turning six and here's to another six more years. In 2015 we can make more weirdly sentimental toasts! *raises glass*

Happy birthday to Code Lyoko.

The people above me are right. Code Lyoko is ageless. If they were to continue the series right now... this very instant, everyone would still be the same. The same age, the same clothes, the same personalities... and it would be like no time at all has ever passed.

You could show this 25 years into the future and, except for the technological difference, it would still be exactly the same. It would strike the same message. It would have the same meaning. It would be ageless.

So I say congradulations to the show... the Immortal Code Lyoko... may your story live on forevermore. May nobody who has ever been graced by your presence forget you, and may you continue to inspire us forever.

Live on Code Lyoko. And may all of you dedicated fans do your part in keeping alive the story, completely great and forever loved.

"If we give what we've got, we can make it through."

Happy Birthday Code Lyoko!

I agree. they could start airing CL from the beginning and it wouldn't be a problem.
they could even continue where they left off and either make the characters only a bit older, or not at all...it wouldn't be the first animated show where the kids never grew up (Pokemon anyone?)

Cartoon Network has a perfectly good opportunity to air Attack of the Zombies and Is Anybody Out There? this month.

They're both perfect to air in their "Scare-O-Vision" event that they have going all month. It'd be quite better than The Othersiders ( a LIVE ACTION show about a bunch of insane kids with chair phobias who go to "haunted" places and have panic attacks)

Then again, they're apparently just burning through Othersiders and then it's over for good, so that's good.

jym!!!!

Hi!

Yeah... I agree.

Wait... if I'm agreeing with you, which is agreeing with me, then I'm agreeing with myself.

That makes sense, though a bit redundent.

I agree. Probably the ONLY criticism would be that the phones look old.

I personally like the old-style phones. I use one of them.

And they could still keep making it without a problem... there's more that they could do... just so long as they are sensible and don't go overboard with plot twists and big bangs.

Though... today... with the phones with the internet... and all that other high tech stuff... that would make for some very great new stuff! Jeremy wouldn't even need his laptop to detect a tower anymore. His phone could just buzz once and that's the signal.

That would actually be pretty cool. No fuss, nothing. Just one buzz and off to Lyoko!

Okay.. now I ramble.

Unlike most people, I didn't think CL was Japanese - I thought it was American. I was a bit surprised that it was French.

Side note: I just thought of something thats so mean: If the CL takes place in france then i'm surprised the gang didn't surrender as soon as they figured out what and who Xana was.

According to QI (oddly enough, the episode "France"), France's military record is actually solid and the "cheese eating surrender monkeys" things is unjustified.
