Well, I'm not huge into comics, and I do tend to prefer DC to Marvel, this does sadden me. I hate to think what a company like Disney- known for being rather... family-friendly- could do to Marvel. Plus, being bought out by a major corporation does carry negativity in current society. I'm sure very many Marvel fans feel betrayed.

This does seem to be within the best financial interests of both companies, but who knows what it could do to the quality of Marvel's comics. Comics, after all, are what make Marvel profitable. While the reading public likes edginess, Disney... doesn't.

We shall have to see how this bodes for comic readers. I wonder what Stan Lee thinks about the characters he created now being within the firm, white-gloved grip of Disney.

I have to say the concept of Mickey Mouse in a Spiderman suit seems pretty hilarious.

Disney owns the company that published Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, and if those two movies aren't very "family-friendly"--far from it. So I'm pretty sure there isn't much to worry about. : 3

Really? WELL THEN

May just be that they absorb revenue from them (they NEED more revenue?) or manage their finances and stuff, but don't have a creative hold over them like things with the Disney name. Another thing I can think of that's owned by Disney is ABC, and half the things on there would never be able to get a direct Disney labeling.

But it is of course funnier to think about clashing creative standards isn't it 8D

Disney owns ABC? Ohwow, I didn't know that.
Ha-ha, I guess that shows there isn't much to worry about, but Mickey Mouse might be making an apperance in the next issue of Spiderman. : 3

It is more fun, if traumatizing.

Kingdom Hearts would be incredible now, ha-ha.

Is it me, or would Donald make the most incredible Wolverine, like, ever?

All the ESPN programming on ABC (which Disney also owns) didn't give it away?

Dammit, Disney owns everything! I didn't realize their influence was as widespread as this!

Not that I especially dislike Disney, but it's creepy-scary to realize how much power they have.

Although I knew they'd produced Pulp Fiction. Neil Gaiman mentioned it in Don't Panic!

Here's a list of all—as far as I can tell—the things Disney owns. : 3

Quite a few things, mm-hm.

Hmm... It's only a matter of time before they own the White House.
I really gotta fix up this theme

Disney is likely going to skip over the White House and just engulf the Americas and Canada as a whole. : /

It'll probably leave Hawaii and Alaska alone for a bit, though, how many Disney movies deal with islands and super-duper-cold-as-hell places?

None, or to save me from lookin' like a douche... not any good ones.

Wasn't Lilo and Stich a Disney movie? And Balto? Done in island and really cold places, respectively?

What's wrong with Lilo and Stich and Balto? Heck, Anastasia was in Russia. Russia is cold.

Oh, ouch.

Darn, darn, darn, darn.

You have a good point. D ;
Shoot.
... And all those movies were awesome, too.

But Balto wasn't by Disney and nor Anastasia, one was by Universal and the other one by Fox.

D:<

Darn, now I want to digress back into my childhood and curl up with my grandma for a good movie, d'aw.

Totally look like a douche now... can we start over, plzthx?

SO HOW ABOUT THAT DISNEY AND MARVAL STUFF? MICKEY MOOSE, SPIDARMONKEHMAN?
God... what if Mickey was a moose? ... What if I could actually stay on one subject?

For one of the most reasonable and well-thought out looks at this business deal I'd follow this link here. Spax3 takes a good look at the actual deal itself as well as lists other things Disney "owns", so to speak.

Really, I think all this panic going on in the blogs is a bit unnecesary. Disney (especially now that Eisner isn't calling the shots) is not as bad a thing as people are making it out to be.

...Then again, I probably am the only one who'd laugh long and hard (in the good way) at Mickey Mouse appearing in X-Men. I guess I'm just weird like that. ;)
