In about five minutes, Barack Obama will be president of the United States.

The Powerpuff Girls and the Bush presidency ending on the same day...

This really is the end of an era.

I was watching the inaugaration in my school's auditorium, totally slashing any chaace I could get on here sooner.
Also, I was thinking, "Bush has 20 minutes left in office. Let's hope he doesn't lauch nukes headed to Iran by then."

But now that he's safely out of office, we can hope for a new future that he will bring us.

Also, on a somewhat-related note, how many times did President Obama say "freedom?" It was too many for me to count.

This was interesting. I was in English when the inaguration started, and my techer didn't let us watch it. So when we went to lunch they had set up 2 old < 30" tvs on 2 corners of the cafiteria for everyone to watch. I was sitting close and all i heard was the tone, not the words. But at least it will be on tonight.

FYI, FINNALY, BUSH IS OUT OF OFFICE!!!

i'm glad obama is in, my friend didn't get to watch it along with his class, teacher said it wasn't important. which i don't understand a person taking highest power in the free world is more important than math.

Well, as Obama said himself when he was elected, we haven't brought THE change about, only the opportunity for it. Of course, there's still the opportunity for epic failure.

Still, congrats to Obama and his family; it's a major accomplishment. I also heard that due to Obama (and the Chief Justice's, I think it was) mistake in the Oath of Office (which I think was covered WAY too much by the media), Obama retook the Oath privately today because of the Constitution. But it was a mistake, not an incident showing idiocy, which is what the media made it seem like they thought it was.

You gotta consider how nervous the man must have been, taking that oath. His mind must have been in a million places. It's an excusable mistake. Then again, if it had been Bush who'd made that same little error, and the media was tearing him to pieces over it, I feel as though I'd be in on the laugh. Funny, discovering things like that about yourself. In any case I hope for the best with this presidency.

Actually...if you look at the video, you can tell that Obama was all set to say it the correct way. He even gives the Chief Justice a look that kind of says, "Wait...what now? ...That's not right." But because it'd look really bad for both of them (and really humiliate the chief justice) if he didn't repeat what he said, I guess he just kind of bit his tongue and repeated the wrong words.
