Visual Studio 2008 Express

I don't know how many people know about this but Microsoft releases a free version of their Visual Studio programming tools called Visual Studio express that you can get from here. The website should explain everything, so if you have any questions, please let me know.

what does visual studio do? is it a replacement for notepad or does it make coding easier?

If it's like Netbeans, it color-codes your program, autogenerates certain bits of code, organizes things, etc.

For my personal projects, I tend to figure that if I need that, my design's too complicated.

uhg, microsofts programmers version of frontpage. I like microsoft and all, but programmers (like me) hate things like that because your always following a template.
