I bought Yu-Gi-Oh The Movie on the weekend and im a lookin and a likin. Ive seen some of the series just a little bit. I liked Yugi's look and his more manly voice when he turns into Yami Yugi. Mai Valentine was hot, Tea is too. Pegasus was a better appealing villain than Kaiba since he had the Millenium Eye. Joey has a nice accent and Tristan looks cool. I loved the All Grown Up parody, Yu-Gotta-Go.

I think that Mai and the dark magician girl`s hot and tea`s alright but it seems childish playing with cards.

Its just so addicting like Pokemon. And ironically, Pokemon is also a card game (just not in the show). Now we got trading card games for a lot of stuff these days.

I used to love Yu-Gi-Oh.. but then it just got so darn repetitive that I couldn't stand it. Each episode was exactly the same. Yami and Joey (sometimes Kaiba) are each dueling someone, Yami's opponents generally world domination-bent psychopaths and Joey's generally ridiculously vengeful psychopaths who have been crying over their loses to him for several seasons, and the duel lasts the entire episode with some random talking and scenes of the characters moving from one location to the next. Sure, it's funny sometimes and entertaining if you have nothing better to do, and the monsters are cool, if you're into that stuff.. but otherwise it's really a waste of time.

One thing I used to be really upset about though is the whole Yami thing. He like.. took over poor, cute little Yugi's life and no one even cares! Yugi was an amazing duelist on his own and a great friend.. he just didn't have any confidence, so he used the power of the Millenium Puzzle. Now, Yami is in like EVERY episode and you barely even see little Yugi. His friend don't even care either; in fact, Tea is infatuated with Yami and all his other friends appear to like Yami better as well. What's up with that?

Rebecca would highly disagree with that statement. I support Tea/Yami, but I also support Rebecca/Yugi (even if that does seem weird). ^^

Anyway, I don't mind YGO. It hasn't and probably will never make the impression on me that Pokemon did, but it's not too bad so far as Saturday morning cartoons go.

What's bothering me right now in the series, is the voice changes. Mai's new voice is AWFUL!!!! My apologies to anyone who disagrees with me, but I really liked her old voice much better. It didn't sound forced, like the new one does now. Mokuba's recent voice change is also bothering me. I believe it's still the same voice actor though, as the voices are similar...but a notch different. He kind of sounds like he has a cold. It's not bad...but I miss the cute little, "naive" younger brother voice he had before. ^^;

So that's my rant about YGO.

You know, my friend was telling me about Rebecca and it turns out that she showed up right around the time I stopped watching. I was even considering watching it again to see what happened with her but I've always been busy or sleeping early Saturday mornings so I never got a chance to.

Still, that's only Rebecca. Everyone else, while claiming how much they value Yugi's friendship, appears to think Yami is much better.

I once got into a huge fight with the friend I mentioned's sister about who was better, Yami or Yugi. I was defending Yugi and she was defending Yami. It was pretty funny.. we were so stupid.. though it's fun to look back on and laugh at how serious we were then.

Is Yu-Gi-Oh from Konami? And if I'm not mistaken, is there an episode (or more than one) where a DDR machine appears and some of the characthers are playing at the arcades?

Alot of the time, I think they weren't even aware that Yami wasn't Yugi (or vice versa). Now I know that sounds stupid, but I'm pretty sure about this. Tea only started recognising the Pharoah's influence around season 3 and it wasn't until Battle City or even the "Atlantis" arc when Yugi's soul was stolen that everybody learned that Yami was a separate entity from Yugi. ^_-

Tea's voice hasn't changed, yet, I don't think. But Mai's definitely has.

Yep. That happens in an episode just before the Battle City Tournament. Tea uses it...in a competition against the "champ", I believe. She wins, after he cheats. ^^

I used to watch and play yugioh (still have my deck as well). i've seen the first through 4th season. then it got borring. it was a good show till they made crap that was stronger than the god cards.

Same with me about losing interest in the show. And as for dueling.. I lost my cards somewhere.. and even before I was horrible at it and had no strategy. I just liked collecting pretty cards with cool names and high attack/defense points. ^^;;

It did, kind of...I think Kaiba's still in denial about the whole Pharaoh thing even now...although he's debunked everything supernatural that's happened to them as a trick, so I suppose it's just in his character.

It's so funny though...every time I hear Kaiba speak, I keep thinking..."That's Brock's voice...just with added angst." ^^;

omg that is the funiest movie ever I love how yami yuugi becomes all MANLY-MAN when hes himself and he gets about 2 feet taller and no one notices until he tells them its so funny...
