Friend's Sister

My friend has 2 sister's. The 9-year-old is perfectly normal, but th 7-year-old is "special". No, not "retard" special, just....Crazy. Insane crazy. Bad crazy. Oh, I don't know what she has, but here's what she does:

- Stabbed Cat (my friend) in the foot with a Pencil
- Stays at home all day, with 2 people to constantly watch over her
- Cannot be around other children, will go ballistic
- Eats food off the floor
- Thinks she's an animal

Otherwise, she's really, really smart. I think she's just Bi-polar.
What's wrong with her?

I learned about this in my abnormal psychology class, a couple of days ago...*looks the symptoms up*
It sounds like what you are describing are the positive symptoms of Schizophrenia. In other words the definition of Positive Symptoms: Symptoms of schizophrenia that seem to be excess of or bizzarre additions to normal thoughts, emotions, or behaviors.

Thinking that she is a cat could be a delusion which according to my book is a strange false beliefe firmly held despite evidence to the contrary. To explain the going ballistic, and stabbing your friend, if she does in fact have schizophrenia it could be explained by hallucinations. Your sister may be having a hallucination which is defined in my book as "The experiencing of sights, sounds, or other perceptions in the absence of external stimuli. This would be Type 1 Schizophrenia.

Highway Runner did state another possibility that she could have bi-polar which is also a possibility. Bi polar is a mood disorder. It is a disorder marked by alternating or intermixed periods of mania and depression. The Mania could explain her behavior, mania is a state or episode of euphoria or frenzied activity in which people may have an exaggerated belief that the world is theirs for the taking. However in order for her to have bipolar she must also have episodes of depression.

If I were you I would let your parents know and have them take her to be tested don't hold me to this analysis because I am not an expert on this subject. Take her to a psychologist to be tested and have them tell you what is wrong I am just telling you what I think it may be.

Also to answer your question Aelita_214 some of the most brilliant people in history have been bi-polor or schizophrenic. To give you an example John Forbes Nash was a brilliant mathmatician here is a link which you can read about him.

Mrs. Chamblin asked Cat if her Dad's taken her Sister to the doctor, and Cat said just the family doctor. Mrs. Chamblin says to get her to some special hospitial or something like that.....

Yeah I just talked to one of my friends about it and she said that she probably has psychosis. But you should take her to see someone. Good luck though with that, I hope my explainations gave you some idea of what it could be.
