Bob and George, The Comic Strip!

Postby Sithking Zero » Tue Jan 23, 2007 1:14 am

Bob and George, the Comic Strip.

This comic strip is of crucial importance to both me and the entire internet.

For the internet: This was the first sprite comic ever invented, and featured the world's first sprite recolors, not to mention spawned the whole "Author insertion" shpiel.

For me, if not for this comic, I wouldn't be here.

How? Here's how.

I was looking on the site's links section, when I stumbled on Planet Megaman, a fansite for Megaman fans. From there, I stumbled onto Rockman.EXE online, and after a while on there, I explored the fanfiction section. From there, I discovered Fanfiction.net.

A year or two later, I saw CL on the TV for the first time, so I decided to look to see if there were Fanfictions based off of it. There were, and after a few, I was hooked. After a while, I published my first CL story, Heart of a Warrior, which combines my two great anime loves: Megaman and Code: Lyoko.

That's where Shademan V.39 comes in. He started reviewing my story about chapter three. At first, I thought he was a little annoying, but we soon became good friends. Eventually, he told me about this really cool Code: lyoko fansite: Lyokofreak.net. He told me about how cool and awesome it was, and how we should join. So we did. And the rest, my friends, is history...

Nice, but I'm more a fan of The Irreguler Webcomic.

Ahh, Bob and George. A name anyone at Serebii.net recognises.

Because of it though everyone thinks author insertions in comics are copied from it. Which I find pretty lame, since you're doomed to the copykittykatkatkathammer when you make a sprite comic like that without knowing what B&G is.

I've never bothered to look up the actual site, though. Thanks for the link. xP

After Seven years of continuous operation, Bob and George, the first of the sprite comics, is ending tomorrow.

Yesterday was the last regular strip, with George showing that indeed, he was willing to kill Bob in order to save the multiverse.

Today was the second-to-last strip, with Bob and George's mom taking them home after revealing that the whole reason for the comic was to toughen Bob and George up in that world so Bob wouldn't be as evil and George wouldn't be as wussy.

Tomorrow is the last comic. Godspeed.

This is it.

After today, there will never be a new Bob and George comic ever again.

Bob and George...

The world's first Sprite Comic...

Is over.

The internet lost one of its true gems today, and I'm sorry that it had to end. A few more years and we could have had a decade of bob and George.

Bob and George, you two will be missed by so many.

Goodbye.
