My cousin and Uncle stayed up way late to drive to thge barnes & Noble near the airport at like, three in the morning to get it before they left home for Indiana. Now THAT's insane dedication.

Insane, you say? There was this Arizona family cosplaying as the Malfoys waiting in line in front of one of the biggest, if not the biggest, bookstores in Europe since 3 days before the book was to come out. It was pretty funny though. When a reporter asked the dad-Lucius a question he was all '*sticks wand to his throat*' and then the scene ended. o_o;;

In my country, they released the books on Friday at 6pm (my time). Only 2300 HP books aviable. I was pissed to find out that I bought the American print, but then I was like "screw this, I'll read it and sell it on EBay later". I started reading at 6:49pm and ended it by today at 9:39am, including piss breaks, eating food, drinking water and stuff.

*EDIT BY TB3 - I shrunk the spoilerish stuff in case any other members haven't read it yet - no offence intended

Pretty nice book, I'd say. I wished they could have done something better with Draco, but meh... still, nice book.

I know how it ends, thanks to the Wiki. Good ending, though.

Harry doesn't die; he marries Ron's sister.

I read HBP in 5:14:17, but I was a lot more laid back about reading this... started 'round 2 PM, finished 'round 9:10.
Good Read!

The most surprising thing about R.A.B. was that he was who everybody thought he was.

So Rowling kills off the cool characthers like James Potter, Sirius Black, Mad-Eye Moody (quite surprising to see him early in the book), Remus Lupin (he was so awesome in Prisoner Of Azkaban), Nymphadora Tonks, Severus Snape and Fred Weasley... but she didn't kill off McGonagall, Molly Weasley, Percy Weasley, Lucius Malfoy, Victor Krum (he didn't went to the f*cking war at all, that dissapointed me because I wanted him dead), Xenophilius Lovegood (from what I've read on Deathly Hallows, he was pretty much a retard IMO, should have died or been sent to Azkaban at least), Flich & Norris, Peeves, Griphook and Cornelius Fudge? Dammit. Well, Crabbe and Wormtail died, but who gives a crap about them?

I think Rowling handled a bit badly the deaths on DH.

I read it in 13-14 hours, and it was drug-free and and free from energy drinks. *glares at TB3*

Finished at 9am - heck, they call it Relentless for a reason! :P

Fantastic book - some expected (and unexpected) deaths, moments of joy and wonder, revelations about the past, and the resolution of this epic saga!

READ 'DEATHLY HALLOWS' TODAY!

Spoilers!

Go read the freaking book you lazy bums! (I tease, lol)

Excuse the American for asking an off-topic question, but I got to know. What is "queueing"?

Sad to hear Krum lived. I feel your pain, Rodri.

Yup. Queueing is standing in line for something.

I've decided I might as well not read it all in one go- make it last 'n all. When I did it with HBP I barely remembered what happened in it. Currently I'm at the part where Harry and Co. are just after going all crazy with the diguises and the Ministry and Umbridge's locket etc.

First, about how i got the book - me and my friends all had a party over at one of their places, and then headed off to the local Borders at 11:45. We get there and it is bedlam. Plus, if you didn't have a reserved copy, the wait until all those who did to get theirs was until 6 AM. So we said f--- that nonsense and went to Wal-Mart, where they had massive pallets of the book sitting out for cheaper. Go us!

I had seen spoliers on the Internet beforehand, but they seemed so laughable that they couldn't be true. They were. If it were not for the epilogue, this would be a really great book. The epilogue is the worst writing in the whole series, IMO. As for the deaths, I was only sorry to see a few of those who kicked the bucket go. The last 300 or so pages were so exhilirating, though I felt the middle of the book dragged. It'll take a trereading or two to fully form this book's place on my best to worst chart, but I'd have to say it's third right now, behind GoF and PoA.

There. I told you how I felt about it, and didn't post any spoliers.

Finished it last night- so much for making it last. xDD; Can't remember what time it was, but it was starting to get bright outside... o.O; Anyway OPINIONS.

I think this was my favourite book out of the series, with a crapload of emphasis on 'I think'. The epilogue made me cry it was so badly done (almost as if J.K Rowling stopped writing and dragged some random user off Fanfiction.net and got them to write it instead) and the middle of the book was really tedious to read through.

Spoilers are in small text just to be safe. Some are pretty big, so BEWARE 'n stuff.
Well, considering it was called the DEATHly Hallows, even though they had nothing to do with people dying (actually I supposed it was just Death in general xD), I figured a lot of people would die in this one. Some of my favourite scenes had to be Hermione beating up Ron and calling him an arse, the last hint that confirmed that Umbridge had the locket, the whole scene with Snape and Lily as little kids (seriously, that one was SO adorable x3), finding out that Dumbledore had ASKED Snape to kill him previously and when Hagrid was forced to carry the 'dead' Harry out for everyone to see. But like I said, EPILOGUE = HOLY CRAP AWFUL. Otherwise, it cleared up all the questions from the other books very well. Although I still don't really get who R. A. Black was... either that or I forget. Guess I'll need to read that bit again. -_-

You and me share opinions on this matter, Tekirai. I found myself missing the humor in the last book. Not that there wasn't any, but it was toned down and certainly wasn't the focus. Also, my favorite character, Luna, got snubbed in the Epilogue, and didn't really get to be herself much in the book. But hey, that is what fanfics are for, and some of them Have to be better than that epilogue.

Spoilers below.

Lol, actually I knew who R.A.B. was as soon as I finished reading the 6'th book (for the 4-5 time xD). I knew where the Locket was all along... Go me :P It also stinks that Fred died... The twins were some of my favorite characters.

Yeah, the Epilogue is lousy and killed the momentum of the 7th book.

Sucks that they killed off Lupin and Tonks without any explaining at all.

- Hermione kills Hermione using Avada Kedavra
- Harry discovers Jesus and becomes a Bishop in the Forbidden Forest
- Hermione wins an Olympic gold medal in snowboarding in the Astronomy Tower
- Ginny Weasley goes on a hot date with Helga Hufflepuff and founds a new religion
- Moaning Myrtle cures cancer in a very sexy scene
- Bellatrix Lestrange writes prize-winning fanfic in a scene written whilst Rowling was having an acid trip
- Draco Malfoy goes on a hot date with Colonel Mustard at number twelve Grimmauld Place
- Harry gets pregnant by a zombie Albus Dumbledore by tying his shoelaces together
- Draco Malfoy gets pregnant by a zombie Albus Dumbledore whilst starring in a new reality TV show

Y'know, this is way too much fun. And any of these would be better than the epilogue
