Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - SPOILERS AHEAD!

Postby MY85 » Tue Jul 17, 2007 3:49 pm

This book got less protection than the average prostitute.

Who's getting the book?

I'm not gonna post spoilers, but if anyone's going to, put a link a tell people to click at their own risk.

Edit: Open for discussion.

I might go out and get it if I gain the willpower to actually finish the fifth and sixth books.

This book actually got the most protection ever, and even still spoilers leak. A big possibility is they were leaked from libraries, as the librarians are allowed to open the books early for indexing purposes. I've actually found a place where they have pictures of every single page, but there is no way I'm posting that because I know how much I hate spoilers.

Anyway, I'm also going to a midnight party, like always. And I'm not sleeping until I finish it lol.

Just poked my mom into preordering it on Amazon <s>along with Pokemon Pearl and Yotsuba&! vol. 4 harr</s> so it arrives on the release date. :P

I hope it's really thick. Maybe this time I won't read the whole thing in 4 hours straight like with HBP... .__.

No, Order of the Phoenix was by far.

But prior to OOTP, Goblet was.

Anyways, should we have a Potter party at LF? Lol.

A set of nearly 800 photographs that posters claim replicates the new Harry Potter book in its entirety was circulating Tuesday on various Internet file-swapping Web sites.

The images, viewed by MSNBC.com, purport to be photographs of the new book, painstakingly taken two pages at a time from a copy lying open on the floor. Officials from Scholastic, the U.S. publisher of the wildly successful Harry Potter series, would neither confirm nor deny the authenticity of the files.

"There are multiple conflicting versions of what is alleged to be the book," said Scholastic's Kyle Good. "I am not going to say what's real and what's not real. Nobody is going to be able to tell until they read the real book."

The highly anticipated final book in J.K. Rowling's seven-part series – titled “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” -- goes on sale Friday. As is common with the release of highly publicized books and movies, pirates have posted several files online that they claim were obtained from advance copies.

Often pirated book copies are fakes that are sometimes called "fanfic" -- entirely different books written by imitators. But the purported Potter files posted online this week appear convincing. The photographs show 759 pages of a bound book in final form, including hardcover bindings. In places, the text is impossible to read, however, owing to poor lighting or focus.

"If you plan on sitting down and reading it all, you might need to see your eye-doctor later," wrote one commenter on a page devoted to the files.

Several sites that were swapping the images earlier Tuesday had been disabled. One message left on the site read "This file is forbidden to be shared! Complaints received."

Book publishers have long been worried that a combination of file swapping and electronic books could undermine their business. The Association of American Publishers said last year that book sellers lose $600 million to piracy each year.

"People should just wait until the book comes out," Good said. "That's what fans are telling us they want."

Here is the book if you want to read it:

Um, yeah...speaking of which...for those of you who have, for whatever reason, gotten advance knowledge of the last book, plot-wise or whatever...don't post it here. ^^; Just to keep everyone out of trouble with the law. *sweatdrops*

...Although, speaking of which...working in a library has definitive perks. I have touched the cover of the Holy Grail of Literature. :*D

I've seen uploaded .pdfs of the entire book scanned and uploaded online.... I'm not a HP fan but I've seen spoilers posted everywhere all ready (and I'm sure most of you know this but if you're an HP fan and browse 4chan... I would steer awaaaaaay from there until you're done!) :X

I would definetly suggest staying off the internet or limiting where you go if you don't want to be spoiled! :O

Literally just arrived in the post there now. The front cover is even scarier up front. o_0 But the back is nice, and the thickness is ok. :3

... being the twit I am I always go to the very back page of every book I read and take a peek. Didn't gather anything from it though. xD

Edit-time! Kind of a spoiler... I think. :B I'm not sure how much I'm OK with what happened on pg 99... >_> *was never too sure about her HP shipping prefs.*

Lol - at 11pm TL, a mate and myself left home, went to a supermarket (where I stocked up on energy drinks and these boiled sweets I like called Werther's Originals), then went and queued (British National Pastime) for an hour, got books, went home, changed into nightclothes, jumped into bed, turned on lamp, opened can of Relentless (potent Energy Drink sold to students in my university) and began reading around oh...12.45am

Finished at 9am - heck, they call it Relentless for a reason! :P

Fantastic book - some expected (and unexpected) deaths, moments of joy and wonder, revelations about the past, and the resolution of this epic saga!

READ 'DEATHLY HALLOWS' TODAY!

Spoilers!

Go read the freaking book you lazy bums! (I tease, lol)
