I am a failer at everything.i just want to give up.

I was exactly like that last year. What grade are you in? I'm thirteen right now and in eighth grade. Last year, I kept procrastinating homework and going on the Internet. I could never remember what to get out of my locker and what to bring home.

Don't use any binders. They are huge and diagonal, so things on top of them will fall off. Papers in the binder always fall out and as the amount of paper increases it will become increasingly difficult to put stuff in. Use folders or an expanding file, one folder or section for a subject, and just carry everything with you. If you locker is messy, try putting all your stuff in your backpack so they will be neatly stacked and will not collapse. And this way, when you go home, you can take all your stuff with you.

Hope that helps. ;)

Uh, do your parents help you?

I'm pretty much the same way. I've been doing the same thing for a few years, but things are starting to shape up. I've got my parents actually forcing me into things, which is probably the only way I'll keep everything together. Teachers can't force you to do homework; that's your parents job.

My advice, as Chosen_one said, is to get something to organize things in. Write down all of the assignments and mark important dates. Once you get home, show everything to your parents, and keep them informed. They'll most likely start to push you harder if you ask them, or show them any bad grades, or just show a genuine urge to learn.

It's not your fault; you're most likely lacking structure in your life, as I did. I'm not saying it's an easy thing to break, I just managed to get into some organization and structure this year, high school. Don't give up, just have your parents get more involved, but most of all, get yourself involved.

That is probably the most important thing you can do. Find an interest in your homework, such as learning about an important figure for history or science, and learning about the things that interest you about them. If psychology is interesting to you, see what happened in their childhood that shaped them into who they became. If you're into math, discover what their invention was, and actually read everything instead of looking for the bold words in the textbook.

A little structure is all you need; it's really hard to balance things alone. Once you get into high school, you'll need to break that habit, as I did; I thought I could slack off on things, and got a B- in my favorite class, English. Break this habit by high school, or else things will only get become more daunting.

Definitely get folders for each class, that way the homework and assignments for that class will go into that folder, and that way things will stay organized. If you organize that, then it will definitely be easier to find the homework that is due the next day.

The first thing you should do when you get home is get started on the homework, get it done, and then you can do whatever after that. That structure will get you into a routine that will help you to remember to do things, and then see how things go.

GAWD I HATE THAT!! x(

*cough* Also, just remember that everybody's brain can hold the same intelligence, but not everybody wants it to be that way. You need determination, and plenty of it. That's enough to get you through so long as you include prayer.

Man, I'm in that same situation right now..I used to be a straight A student and now, I get a bunch of bad grades, mostly because I don't do all my homework.

I really have no advice but you're not the only one who procrastinates (sp?). And just because you keep doing bad in these things, don't call yourself a failure. Just struggle to do better and maintain a good composure. You're never a failure until you absolutely have nothing left. You still have a lot of time, hang in there. Good luck...

Saying "I'm going to do homework now," and waiting for your hands to start writing an essay doesn't work so well.

Try this, devote 15 minutes of your time to homework. You can research about whatever topic it is, or try to do some homework, and keep on going. If you find yourself in trouble, back out of that problem and come back to it later. Just tell yourself you'll devote 15 minutes of your time, and you won't feel time pass. In fact, you'll probably work longer than 15 minutes, and won't even notice.

I don't have much else other than that.

You have to physically push yourself to do the homework....thinking it and doing it are two different things.

Force yourself to stay focused. Dont just try once and say ok, cant do it. It takes multiple efforts...Days, Weeks even. Keep pushing yourself.

Ostracized. And you're not a failure, you just need a bit of discipline and structure, as well as something to push you.

I don't think it'd be best to come here for help. We all try to give our best input and advice, but you might need professional help, such as proper support classes, for this kind of thing. I was a bit surprised at first when you posted here; did you talk to your parents about it? If they care about you enough, I'm sure they'll find a way to get you on the right track.

Don't give up. You're almost there, coming for help is good, but now you need someone in real life to help you, not some username with an avatar.

Behind that username and avatar are people who have been there though. 99 percent of the time the advice is solid. But you are correct on one thing, and that is the fact that he needs outside help.

Yeah, I know. I'm speaking from personal experiences though; no one on the internet can force you to do something. It's just text with occasional emoticons. Then you get parents involved, and it becomes an angry blur and a spanking sometimes XD

Kidding on the last part, but yeah. It's really cool that so many came to help him out, but he's got to do most of it on his own, or push himself to get the help he needs.

Well, we look out for each other...this is more than just a forum..its a family. Maybe he should talk to his parents about some sort of structural classes or something. I am not sure what is available in his area of the country.

i find if you disconnect yourself from the internet when you do your work it helps less of a temptation for you...the only real thing that can get you going is you. you have to remember you have the power to start your work and you have the power t get it done

Haha, I’m half a year from the HSC and I’m still like that. But I don’t get depressed about it until there’s an assessment due the following day. :p

You lack motivation. Maybe you want to be motivated but you’re just not; you don’t have a goal important enough. There’s no fool-proof plan that someone can give you for you to suddenly have a revelation and get into your work, it’s all up to you, seriously. If you really are sincere about doing something about this problem, put yourself into a situation where you can’t get out of doing your work. My mum recently got fed up with me and made a timetable where I can use the computer, some days I can’t use the internet at all. :o

And! Try not to get so down. How old are you? The extra depression might just be teenage-angst, which should ease up sooner or later. :) Bad grades isn't as bad as it gets! b

Good, so don't let worry take over. School IS helpful and completing it is a good idea, but unless you want to get into a Uni course it's not as life restricting as some make it out to be (God but do I sound like a lazy bum myself).
