The lines,

"We'll do our best to never let you down,
We're up to the test to turn this world around." are cut off at the end, not to mention the area from the end of the chorus before those lines and ending after that- you know what I mean?- sounded way better, less airy, in previous versions.

The newer version isn't nearly as good. Sorry, but it's true.

Yes, I know that it could be better. I have NO CLUE HOW KIKOU DID THAT. I'd ask him, but I dunno what his e-mail address is or whether he even speaks English or not... (hey, he could at least try making an English version of the remix!) So, I'll try and clean it up a bit... sorry it's not quite as good as anticipated so far.

By the way, SZ, I'm working on the lines you mentioned today, so don't worry, that much I can fix.

Today:
I have uploaded a new audio file! The bridge has drums now, although in need of slight re-alignment. Also fixed the echoes at the very end; they were a bit fast previously.

Coming up:
Saturday (11/4): Getting the "on ira"'s out of each chorus at the end. Also re-aligning the drums in the bridge.
Sunday (11/5): Finishing touches. Listen to the master mix with headphones and correct as necessary. Upload final work to LF and get final comments.
Next Friday (11/10): Check feedback; make final corrections.
Next Saturday (11/11): Release to public! Also submit to codelyoko.fr and possibly other major CL sources to see if they want it.

I KNOW. Increasing the treble did something to the beginning; it made its volume decrease. I tried normalizing it, but obviously, digital recording can't get those minute details and amplifying it REALLY distorted it. I'll fix that up a bit tomorrow, but today, I'm fixing up the last few choruses.

Okay, I see you're starting to look at the negative points more; let me point out some positives to you, as well as some setbacks I might just have over on my side...

SETBACKS
1. I work on WEEKENDS ONLY. 3 hours on a GREAT week.
2. It's really hard! This is probably the most obvious point... I mean, you have to get the alignment between the words and instruments just right and the drums and AAGH! It's really stressful to me throughout the rest of the week because I'm constantly thinking about what went wrong.
3. It was a slight mistake to give myself a deadline ahead of time; now I have to cramp in as much work as possible into each weekend. I don't even have time to check e-mail. Seriously.
4. There's a major bug in the program; using most effects on one part of the music will decrease the volume at the beginning and end. That explains the quote-unquote bad radio signal effect.

POSITIVES
1. There's a couple of errors, but they're concentrated to the bridge. Have you even listened to the rest of it?! It's like Kikou made the last part of it himself! (Maybe I'm being too high-spirited about this, but I think I've done pretty good there.
2. The high-pass filter? SO HARD. I had to actually duplicate and invert the sound signal, stretch it out by less than 1%, and align it as good as possible over the original to make its peak match the original. Do you know how long that takes?!?!?
3. Echoes are very well-timed. As a matter of fact, I found out that it echoes approximately every .472 seconds. That took a lot of testing and doing-over to get it right.
4. DRUMS OHMYGOSH. Kikou left me very little help for the bridge; I had to actually copy the beginning segment, use another high-pass filter to get the violin/synthesized sounds/whatever it was out of each beat. I spent probably at least 30 minutes increasing and decreasing the speed of the drums to get it to lay out as good as possible to make it sound at least plausibly normal.


Hope this sort of enlightens you. By the way, I have about two more days (actually HOURS) to complete this project. I wish I could do better, but if you want it done better, get Audacity and get to work because I am COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED WITH THIS. I will work on it Sunday and next Friday and then it's showtime, unless you can do better.

As for the last part, it's okay. I listened to it with headphones on, and I see what you mean. It sounds sort of squeaky for some reason... wonder why. Maybe it's from editing it 6 times.
Anyway, I'm gonna do a mini-do-over on the bridge... third time's the charm!

Oh yeah. Cassius, I dunno how long it would take me to do it without the deadline because I don't know what standard you're looking for. As for a regular fan-creation, probably the 12th, Sunday. One extra day would help...
And I was looking through past comments and found that you disliked the beginning. Actually, don't blame me for that. Blame Kikou; he made the same thing in French. I'm just doing his work in English because nobody else has ever bothered to.

Okay, one person who didn't think of a comment yet and another who likes pie and thinks it's pretty. Okay, I guess I'll just do the basics today. I'm going to get the transition between chorus and verses more aligned, and I'll do a little finishing touch on the HPF (high pass filter). Then tomorrow, I'll host my final on a downloadable site and submit it to codelyoko.fr to see if they want it!
