Australia won 3-1 this morning after Japan led most of the match. Crazy goal scoring late made it an enjoyable match to watch. Next up - USA v. Czech Republic, which I don't get to see because I'll be in class...

I thought that most of the new teams, like ivory coast or angola, played very well in the second half but didnt quite get into it in the first half... which is a shame,
In the second half i thought that some of the teams could have got a goal back for a draw

The match ended Czech Republic 3 - United States 0. The US team lacked offensive power throughout the game.

I arrived late to classes due to the Japan-Australia match. 3-1 to Australia, which gives them the chance to possibly qualify as 2nd place. We'll have to see what goes on with Brasil and Hrvatska (Croatia). I hope Brasil loses. I'm sick of them winning all the darn time.

I missed this match... D: But it wasn't much of a surprise to me seeing USA getting their a**es kicked.

Italia vs Ghana... I'd say Italia wins, but maybe not that easily.

Italy won 2-0 against Ghana. Ghana had many chances to score (they even had more possession of the ball) but the players lacked aim. :sad7:

Event he highlights up on FIFA's official site for the match show only one US opportunity. We're really up a creek here for qualifying for the round of 16...

Ghana was just Essien and Appiah doing all the hard job. The others weren't at the same level. If Ghana would have tied the match, one of those two were going to be the man of the match.

From Group E... USA was the last candidate to try passing the 2nd round. For sure, Ceska Republika and Italia might be passing... and dang, Italia changed to better, compared to their crappy performance at Japan-Korea 2002. This new Italia seems more ambicious (Lippi does a better job than Crappatoni... Trappatoni, I mean).

I also think it was a good start for them. By the way, do you know if it's true that Totti suffered a leg injury?

Don't know if Totti's really injured.

BTW... yesterday:

Korea-Togo: Korea was much better than Togo. The goals scored by Korea can prove it. 2-1, Korea won, but previously Togo was winning before. Their mood got screwed after a player got a red card and Korea scored instantly from a free kick.

France-Switzerland (darn, I can't remember the real name of the country right now): A tie that shouldn't have ended that way. Both deserved to win... more Switzerland for their effort than France. This 0-0 draw seemed more dull than Sverige-T&T's 0-0 match.

Brazil-Hrvatska: 1-0... I hated that Brazil won, but at least the goal was scored by Kaká instead of Ronaldinho.

Today:

España - Ukrane (real name: Ukranija, or something like that): 4-0, Spain whooped their ***es real good.

Tunez- Saudi Arabia: 1-1 at the moment.

And it was a boring match (specially in the second half)... nothing like I was expecting it to be.

The goal Germany missed at the end of the first half of their match against Poland! OMFG, it was so close!

And those final minutes of Saudi Arabia against Tunisia, those were good.

You should have seen the 1999 UEFA Champions League final match between Manchester United and Bayern München. Imagine Bayern winning 1-0 from the first 3 minutes... and in the last 3 minutes of the match, Manchester turned the tables.

As for Deustchland's match... they deserved to win by the fact that they did attacked more. Although, the other team defended well.

So now, Deustchland's on the 8th finals.

BTW... just two questions:

1) Has there been on the stadium any Swastika (Nazi version) flag on any match or not yet?

2) Did anyone watched the Italia-Ghana match? And when Pirlo scored the first goal... first, the tv has shown an Italian kid with a happy face... then, an African kid was sad and covering his face... as disgraceful as it seems, I found it hilarious. What's your take on this, guys?

I haven't but I heard news concerning this and the German authorities stayed that they would everything possible to neutralize any kind of racist manifestation.

... About today's matches, Costa Rica is losing to Ecuador 0-1. :whatever: ... And now it's 0-2 :arg: (the score changed as I was typing this). When will Costa Rica get rid of mediocre managers and find a real coach? (anyway that's another topic...)

Dunno about that, but I do know that Ecuador took down Costa Rica 3-0 and is in the round of 16 along with the host nation Germany.

Ecuador's citizens are deliring over their qualify to the 8th finals. They deserve this and worked hard for this. Costa Rica dissapointed me, really. I was expecting the match to have a winner with a 1-goal difference on the score, but 3-0... still, enjoyable (except for BJB).

England - Trinidad & Tobago... England's getting the same (or even worse) frustration as Sverige. And to think Trinidad could have won in the last minutes. First half ended 0-0.

BTW... if you're looking forward to the C-3PO dance from Peter Crouch, he won't do it until England wins the title.

Edit:

And one of my 3 candidates for the title qualified into the 8th finals!! :D

England 2-0 Trinidad&Tobago.

It was a nice awesome match... great goal from Gerrard (the second one). But T&T did a great match too.

Now, awaiting for Paraguay - Sverige.

Three teams already eliminated from the World Cup: Poland, Costa Rica and Paraguay.

Sweeden-Paraguay ended 1-0 with a head shot from Ljungberg when the match was coming to an end.

Let's see what's left for tomorrow:

Argetina-Serbia and Montenegro (Argetina will win)
Netherlands-Ivory Coast (I think Netherlands might win)
Mexico-Angola (Mexico's qualifying, for sure)

Has France dissapointed anyone here?

Mexico 0-0 Angola

Mexico will have to wait for the match against Portugal to see if they can make it to the next round, which I hope they do.

Yesterday...

Argentina 6-0 Srbija I Crna Gora. Argentina definately kicked their ***es. Whoever saw the match can prove it. Maxi Rodríguez scored twice (1st and 3rd goal as well), then Cambiasso (2nd), Crespo, Tevez and Messi scored. Impressive game from Argentina. Cambiasso's goal got compared to Lahm's goal against Costa Rica as candidates for best goal in the World Cup.

Nederland won 2-1 against Cote D'Ivore. Nice free kick from Van Persie and also Ruud scored. :D

Mexico tied 0-0 against Angola. The africans made their first point in World Cup History.

Today...

Well... I missed the second goal from Portugal (I know Deco scored the first goal), which ended up to 2-0 against Iran.

I also know Ghana defeated Ceska Republika by the same score. D: (I was on my way home when this match ended)

And now... Italia vs USA... first half's 1-1 thanks to Gilardino and a own goal by Zaccardo. Also Danielle De Rossi and Pablo Mastroeni got red cards (the italian for delivering an elbow to McBride's face and the gringo by fouling Pirlo without the ball).

And the second half is rolling...

The United States tied against Italy... who would've thought it. They even had one player less on the field since the very beginning of the second half.
