What do you guys think of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? I absolutely loved it! I especially liked the way that Veruca and Augustus were portrayed.

I don't understand why people hate this version of the film so much more than the original. I liked it. Charlie was certainly better in this film. I especially liked how they gave the backround on how Willy Wonka became so weird. Anyway, I liked this movie.

Personally, I liked the original version of the film better. Not that the remake was a bad film,
it's just seemed a bit off to me without seeing Geane Wilder in the role of Willy Wonka.

I think Jonny Depp was a better Wonka; he brought him the zany (pardon my English) personality that made the movie funny.

Wonka: Everything in this room is edible. Even I'm edible! But that, children, is called "canibalism" and is frowned upon in most societies.

I had half a mind to set the theatre on fire after I saw this movie. Not because it was horrid (which it was) but because they took out the original guy's most famous line.

It was terrible. I hated it. The movie might have been good if they used someone else for Wonka instead of Johnny Depp. Depp isn't an enthusiastic person. He made Wonka more like Micheal Jackson.

I don't have it out for Depp, btw. I loved him in Edward Scissorhands and PoTC.
Bang, baby.

Well I enjoyed it, the settings were great although I'm not sure if Depp was a better Wonka, but he was very good. I liked this low enthusiasm on everything and his creepiness, but that's just me.

What I can't understand is how people can just leave comments on threads like this that say things like:

"i t0t4lli ha3t WiLlI WoNkA cuz hes GH3Y!!1169"

If you hate it people, give a descent reason, otherwise you're just being closed minded and immature >:[

Yeah, the voiceover was okay, although Corpse Bride wasn't my favorite Tim Burton movie by any means. Nightmare Before Christmas for the win.

The only part I remember from that movie was the part with the squirrels.

I didn't watch the rest.

The song. Well, the trumpet part of the oompa loompa song in the beginning was like the best ever.

I only saw the second half of this like with everything else I see. Half of CL Season 2...new episodes of HIHIPAY...lunch...

I heard someone said that Ms Dahl said the new version fit the original story a lot better. Personally I liked the first version better, since... Depp as Wonka? I nearly died.

He looked and sounded too much like Michael Jackson, like Metrion said. The ending was good, though.
