Snuff is another term for chewing tobacco, I believe. I think... I've been known to be wrong. But I think that's what it is...

<s>Nope, snuff is powdered tobacco. It is inhaled.</s>

Apparently, we're both right... I'd give you the disambiguation link, but it has some very BKO alternate meanings...

Okay, since I figured out how to use my printer to scan pictures, I have scanned in quite a few from when I've visited different places.

First off, a picture of the Space Needle

Now, some pictures from Washington, DC. I went there on a class field trip in May, 1999. I have some more, but I got tired of scanning them in. I’ll do them later.

First, some shots of the Vietnam Wall.

While walking next to it

Right now it’s tall

Now it’s short

Now, a far off shot of it

Next, some pictures from Arlington National Cemetery.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier We watched the changing of the guards.

Challenger memorial It says: In grateful and loving tribute to the brave crew of the United States Space Shuttle Challenger 28 January 1986.

The Eternal Flame It was slightly tricky getting this close to it.

RFK’s grave You can’t really read it.

Finally, two last pics.

A shot of the Pentagon while we driving past it.

And a shot of the Washington Monument In case you’re wondering, there is scaffolding around it ‘cause they were doing reconstruction work at that time.

Like I said, I have a bunch more pictures. Once I get them scanned I'll post them. I have more DC pics, and some pics of New York City from when I was there over New Year's.
not gonna bother coming back

...SNUFF! :O (Perhaps they forgot how to spell "stuff" xD)

Yea the hat is a fall out boy hat... (also very much obsessed)

Ah, DC... I've only spent like a half hour there, but I did manage to buy a T-shirt, drive past gov't buildings, and see the White House. ^-^ (Y'know.. if I was President, I'd have it painted purple. Just to be contrary. :P)

Yeah, I knew it was from a video game or something like that. Eh. *shrugs*

..I've only heard of "snuff" when referred to tobacco. Do I even WANT to know what it means otherwise? o.O

We spent 4 days there. We didn't get to actually go in the White House. They wouldn't let us.

I'd totally paint it a different colour. Probably blue, or maybe green. Or red, or black.

Ahh I've been to DC like... all my life xD; I've been in the White House like... twice. >>; And if I were president. I'd put random multicolored dots all over the place. Just to make people mad xD;;

And I'm going to NY this coming weekend... and I'm sure I'll be taking pictures xD;; Cause I'm awesome like that.

Ah. I keep forgetting that you live 'round there. ^^;

...Does it bother you that all that the area is a potential target for aliens who want to take over the world? :O (One of the few advantages of living in Ohio... very few people care enough to blow it up. xD)

AB - your dog looks so CUTE with the hat, the hat is also awesome

Mooshie - your dogs look great, and I love your house! :)

-------------------

Some members might remember my obsession with a disused railway tunnel some time ago, well I finally went back and walked through it!

ALLTWALIS TUNNEL - Built 1863, abandoned 1978

WARNING: These kind of adventures are very dangerous - though this tunnel is structurally sound many other similar structures are in danger of collapse - any exploration requires stringent planning and safety measures - please bare this in mind if you are motivated to try out similar activities after seeing the pictures.

From the road over the top of the ridge, the only clue that there is anything underground is this old ventilation shaft.

Down in Skanda Valley, the old track can be seen curving towards the tunnel, out of sight in trees to the bottom left.

Though I walk through the valley in the shadow of death...

...I shall fear no evil.

Okay, scratch that, I was very, VERY afraid - wouldn't you be?

Very Afraid

One last look into Skanda Vale - obviously this is illegal, but what the hell! :D

One of the recesses workmen used to jump in when trains went by - I was amazed at how dry the tunnel was when the surrounding rock was clearly water-logged

Looking up the second of the two shafts into daylight 200ft above

Looking back the Skanda Vale entrance is tiny - the overall length is over half a mile

But ahead, a tiny pinprick of light appears round the corner

It widens, and widens

And I'm in the light of the Dolgran Valley

However, this gate is pretty solid

So back we go!

This was an awesome experience - walking underground was amazing, and though I had a powerful torch the walls seemed to absorb the light - and the echoes - at one point I started singing 'World Without Danger' and I reckon it carried for the entire half-mile length!
