Moving to something new...

Ok here's the deal, I have an old computer with a hard drive and it also has an ehthernet port. I want to put it to use and plug it into the hub shown in the picture below

Then i want to connect my wireless router to the hub so my old comp (which will be a server if things work out) can be accessed wirelessly

Will that work?

Another question: Where do i put in the role of my computer? >.< I forgot ex. server, desktop etc
