General Discussion Thread

Postby TheAppleFreak » Wed Dec 03, 2008 8:50 pm

As far as I am concerned, there has not been a General Discussion thread here for a while, and since I'm too lazy to go through the archives, I guess I should start one.
It is ironic, as in the BKO forum, we have had many general discussion threads.
For those of you who have never heard of one of these, basically, the members here just chat about anything that they want to. Of course, since this is not BKO, you can't curse or post overly suggestive content, but I thought it would be a nice way to revive these forums.

So.... yeah.
Oh, and no spamming. Spamming is bad.
I really gotta fix up this theme

I don't think there's ever been one. Far as I know, it's always been a BKO thing. But, I don't really mind whether or not there's a GD discussion thread. Actually, I think it's far overdue. Unless someone else complains, I'll happily keep it open.

I really need to get back into the swing of things. In other news, CUPCAKES! DEY IS SWEET. *hands out cupcakes*

It depends on the type of muffin and cupcake. For example, I would prefer a chocolate cupcake to a bran muffin, but I would prefer a lemon-poppy-seed muffin to... most kinds of cupcakes. I love lemon-poppy-seed things.

Seeing as how I haven't mentioned it outside of BKO, (although it may not matter because I think most of the active population has BKO access) I suppose I should inform you all that Jeremie Belpois has a Twitter.

And so does William. This is fun! xD language warning.

Lemon poppy seeds? I like poppy seeds, but I have never tried them in lemon. That's quite interesting.

This is indeed fun, but I'm going to bed now. I'll continue the fun of acting like an imaginary French kid tomorrow.

You know what sucks? Having ulcers on your tonsils from a virus.

Surprisingly, I'm doing well in all of my classes. For some reason, AP Calculus (AB) doesn't seem too hard. Currently on Related Rates, but I've missed two days of school because of the above ulcer incident, My throat hurts like crap, and I hate letting one of my classmates down on a project we are working on for AP Computer Science (Java).

I also got a laptop over the weekend!!! :D free! (Compaq Presario 1800T) Has ME D: and ~128MB RAM 10-15GB HD, but hey, I have something I can take around.

So apparently when you change your e-mail address it deactivates your account until you reply to an e-mail sent to your previous e-mail address. This would have been fine if my previous e-mail address hadn't been deleted. But everything is good now, many thanks to Mew!

Ulcers on your tonsils? I didn't even know that was possible. And I don't think I would ever take AP Calc.

Yay! 422 is safe. ^___^

I'm nowhere near taking AP classes, so I don't know if I'd want to take Calc or not. My mom's telling me to take Stat, which sounds kinda interesting-ish.

Speaking about events coming a little sooner...my exams are in a week. I think I'm doing pretty well in pretty much everything except Algebra II and French. Only test grades are taken for Algebra, and my last few test scores have been...bad, so I'm counting on the midterm to give me a boost. French...I've only been taking it for a year, and I'm doing better than I was, but it's still not up to par.

In other news, uh...I have no other news. 8D

I am in an advanced school, in all advanced and accelerated classes, so I have no idea if I have any AP classes.
On the other hand, I am doing swell in Algebra II, and I have passed Gym with an Honors!
(For those of you who don't know, grades are assigned on a High Honors, Honors, Merit, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, and Fail scale.)

And Carth! I had no idea that you're in 10th grade and only taking Algebra II!
And French....
Not doing well in it. I passed with a Sat, but I could pull up that grade.

I have an A in Japanese, but I'm still not very good with it. And a lot of students take Algebra II in 10th grade, at least they did in my school. When I was a sophomore, about half the grade was in Algebra II while the other half was taking geometry.

I just got a new video game!
It's called Generic Title.
Basically, it's an insert genre here game where insert name here fights insert villan name here for insert faction here at insert location here. Insert plot here.

It's one of the hottest games out on the market.

Eh. Sounds like a rip-off of that game where that insert animal here with the insert weapon here that insert verb here insert noun here. Especially the level on the insert location here where you face an army of insert mooks here. And come on, the villain even has the same insert physical feature here!

Hi, I'm back from the real world.
Quick question; who here uses Linux and not Windows or Mac?
I want to know a bit about this utility I saw called unetbootin, and a peer showed me him using Puppy Linux on a random computer booted from his flash drive.

I've dabbled in Linux, but not to that point yet. I'm getting an external HD soon, though, to run Fedora to run the Cell simulator. I'll probably also install Gobo on it.
