Nutshell: Scientists have made a material so black (absorbs 99.9% of light) that all you can see is its outline- no highlights or surface shadows to clue you in to the shape.

You need to see the picture.
(yeah, the cool links in my old sig died. :( A few nerdy newish projects are here. )

Wow. That IS dark. x_x

It's great that NASA (or someone) might be able to use it for solar energy, since it absorbs light. =)

One idea:
1. Make a Kankrelat-shaped hunk of this material.
2. Paint it with transparent fluorescent paint.
3. Aim blacklights at it.
4. Cel-shaded Kankrelat model FTW! :D
