Explains the new name. Not that I've read it, but it's popular on TV Tropes, so I've been spoiled for all the major stuff.

I'm reading literature for Dual-Enrollment English. And SQLite documentation.

Pretty good book. I didn't really like the (sorta) new movie they made of it, the old one was better.

I'm reading my History paper. It's on the movie The Patriot. and I'm reading "The Last Days". It's the sequel to "Peeps". ooooh! It's sooo good! But not as good as "Peeps". I liked the first one because Scott had every even chapter on different parasites and what they do to other animals.Kinda gross but way cool. 8)

Right at the moment, I'm searching for some Luna-centric Harry Potter fanfics to read. As for an actual book, I'm working on Anthony Bourdain's "A Cook's Tour."

Yea, bumping an old topic, but I think we all read here, no? I just got done reading Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott. The title caught my eye at the library, so I checked it out and read it all in one siting in one night. It is so creepy, scary, and good. IT's about a girl named Alice (not her real name) who gets kdnapped when she was 10 years old has been abused for the last 5 years. it really makes you look at abuse in our society and how to spot it, and its effects on everyone. I recommend it for the non-squeemish, as it certainly is an older teen-s to adult book.

That actually sounds like an intriguing book, especially for the title. Might have to go and find that one...

Strangely enough, I'm reading my two summer reading books, The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien and The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, along with rereading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The first two are borefests, and that's all you really need to know.

The Things They Carried is a very good book. Had to read it in high school, and the characters just grabbed me. It really humanizes the Vietman War. And I reread Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince recently, too.

Additionally, I just reread the Golden Compass topic here in G.D.; makes me wanna reread the His Dark Materials trilogy now.

Oh, I know the name (I know both names, actually). V.C. Andrews is a dead horror writer who somehow still puts out titles. It doesn't surprise me that you should like her works, TM.

Hey, I read that one. It's about two kids named Gene and Finny, right? If so, it was pretty good. Thumbs up.

Currently, I'm reading Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman, a very smart, funny book. It's about a group of superheores called the Champions as they attempt to track down and stop their evil arch-nemesis Dr. Impossible, after he breaks out of jail and resumes his plans for world domination. The "gimmick" is that the first-person perspective changes with every other chapter; first, Dr. Impossible narrates, then a female cyborg named Fatale (the newest member of the Champions) narrates, and they each desctribe their motivations, personal histories, feelings, and the world the live in as they constantly try to one-up the other side. It's pretty good, way less stupid than it sounds, highly recommended.
