Dan Nakaso, USA Today wrote:The A&E television network Wednesday suspended production of the hit reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter after Duane "Dog" Chapman acknowledged making a telephone rant in which he repeatedly used the n-word in referring to his son's African-American girlfriend.
The apology by Chapman — and A&E's decision to suspend production of the fifth season of the exploits of Chapman and his bounty hunting crew — came after the National Enquirer based a story on a recorded telephone conversation between Chapman and his son.
In the conversation, Chapman said, among other things, "I'm not taking a chance on some n———. I don't care if she's a Mexican, a whore, whatever. It's not because they're black. We use the word n——- sometimes here."
Chapman did not return messages left on his cellphone or at his Honolulu-based business, Da Kine Bail Bonds. Chapman's publicist, Mona Wood, said Wednesday that Chapman would not grant interviews. He also canceled all appearances, including a spot Thursday night on the new, local TV show NightTime With Andy Bumatai, which was to air Nov. 7, Wood said.

I was half-expecting MY85 to post this, but I guess he only posts about pedophile tales and his obscene love for Paris Hilton. Next time, pal.
Personally, I think it's really stupid that people are making a big deal out of this. They've really gone far to push Chapman and convince him that he's a "racist scumbag". Black people think he's racist for using the word (when really, how different is it than other curse words? Get some backbone), while white people think he's got jelly legs for apologizing profusely. Mexicans are still in the background as extras (not so much anymore, ever since those immigration laws came into effect, though that's for another thread).
Everyone makes a big deal over the N-word--even I can't say it, because it'll just get edited and asterisked--but they look the other way when the word is tossed around like it's no big deal in the rap industry. Heck, it hardly makes it into the news, but Duane Chapman is on Larry King groveling for his life.
Frankly, I like Dog and the family. Before every bust, they say a short prayer, and after they arrest the guy (right after some serious *bleep!*ing, admittedly), they have a serious talk with him. They're not there to just bust people and keep their show going--more income is, as I'm sure everyone will agree, is welcomed--but to actually help them. They're clearing up the streets so people can live better, and also to help the bail-skipper. They offer them a smoke, have a talk, let them get things out, and offer them some help.
But, if anyone hates him, please, feel free to speak your mind. The only responses I can find is that he's a racist pile of filth or that he's evil because he curses. Any decent responses?
Have at it.
