Edit: I just finished watching it.................. What. The. Hell*. So, they record a bunch of Americans answering stupid questions with normal, unfunny answers, then use stop-animation to give the appearance that animals are saying it. lol? No. I could understand why it might be considered funny if everyone was talking with barely comprehensible street slang or nerd lingo. But boring, predictable, normal answers? NO! No jokes, no satire, no random Monty Python-esque humor, nothing! CBS, (Darth Vader voice) you have FAILED me for the LAST TIME! Can someone please explain the reasoning behind this show and why it is supposed to be funny?:umm: Do you have to be British to get the joke? I'm serious. I never understood The Office either. It must have something to do with one's psychology.

Wallace and Gromit as well as Creature Comforts (New? It's old to me) are more centered towards the British. We find both hilarious, but the former is unbeatable. The last time I saw CC though, I could have sworn they had British voices. America must have a different version of it. o.O Kinda like The Office... (which the British version totally pwns BTW)

Also... you expected it to have 'Monty Python-esque humor'? Not all British comedies are like that. :\ Actually, it's one of the few that uses random humour that I know of.

This is not the original "Creature Comforts". This is the American version. They've recorded Americans and set their voices to clay-mation animals.

The joke of the original "Creature Comforts" was that, they had indeed, just asked random people on the street mundane questions. Take for example, "Do you like living in Britain?" The answers they got they then edited (so that no mention of Britain or something was made) so that when they set the voices to the animated animals it looked as if they were talking about whether or not they liked living in the Zoo. The amusement comes from how well the dialogue works for the animals...even though the people who voiced them were neither animals nor living in a zoo.

It's absurd humor...but a different brand of it. *nods*

I would suggest looking up clips from the original British production and see if you like it any better. Perhaps try looking for the "Puma" clip...that one seems to be the most popular. ^_^

At any rate, I have no doubt that, like most American versions of British shows (The Weakest Link, The Office, etc. ), that this one is inferior to the original.

After all, the only British show I've ever seen adapted well into an American version was "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" ^^;

I personally adore Wallace and Gromit. For some reason I completely understand why it is funny. Maybe because Americans never tampered with it? And no, I don't stereotype all British comedies as Monty Python-esque. I have seen my fare share of good Brit Coms and found them all funny, with no Python whatsoever. I was just expecting... something from this show, even if it was completely random humor.

I think you're right. Something gets lost in translation when being brought stateside from the UK. Too bad, really. I will definitely check out the original versions of those shows. Thanks for the info.

BTW my computer wants to correct the spelling of "diologue" to "dialog". Stupid American PC doesn't know how to spell. Heehee.
