Goin' too fast..

Postby Rory » Fri May 26, 2006 9:55 am

Its very scary how fast life is going.. we finished school the other day, and I've started my GCSE's.
I was thinking about this day as if it were gonna be in years... 'cause it WAS gonna be in years.
Its here, and before I know it I'll be in collage, life is so scary o.o
And before ya know it, we've bought the farm.. as depressing as this is, I just wanted to get it off my chest.
Anybody else share my view?

Mixed feelings is the best way to explain it. I was excited to get out of high-school until I actually graduated, then I started getting scared/nervous about getting into the "real world".
Life does go by very fast.

I've been feeling the same way too.

For most of my remembered life, I've always acted like a little kid, very inocent and silly. But now I'm changing, and I don't know what i am. I guess It's all kind of a shock. it's almost like I already grew up and I'm observing myself...

Yes, life is going too fast...I've been in high school a full school year and yet it seems like only 2 months.

I've grown up fast too in this short time..It's like, tomorrow I'll be 80. D:

*sigh* wish it'd slow down
What will you remember me for?

Life does go extremely fast. Looking back, it seems like the past year went by in an instant. Yet I have learned so much and changed so much, it amazes me that it went so fast.

And then I think, 'Wow, I am gonna be a junior next year..' and I realize that time is only going faster. It's a little scary to think about.

True, I've just got 2/3 more weeks of 7th grade left and it seems I haven't really learned much. Being the psychopath that I am I'll probably start crying on Moving On Day. (a day where Year 8's celebrate their first year and moving onto Year 9) But the last day should be cool. Non-uniform, my brother's band performing, the possible chance of me getting a handful of awards...

Ooh! It all sounds like so much! *random wiggle dance* 8D Time creeps me out sometimes.

I know what you mean about time flying by - it was just the other day that I started University (heck I remember talking about it here on LF), and now I'm nearing the end of my first academic year - lol

It is scary. Right now I'm thinking about which college I want to go to. Even though I have two more years of school left it's a scary thought. Time is going by way to fast. Finals are coming up and then school is out. This has been popping into my head more so in the last few weeks then before.

Get used to that feeling - it's called 'Teenage Excess' or 'Angst' and will stalk you for a few years - mine crops up whenever I'm in bed and troubles me with worrying questions about the Univerise, Humanity and our own Mortality.

The upside is that it encourges you to live life to it's fullest (opens can of beer and puts on Firefly DVD] ;)

Thanks for the advice TB3. But some how I wish that we could stop time and enjoy what we're doing right now. But there is a saying. "Your born. You live. You die."

Hate to sound depressing but the only advice I can give is that everyone dies - it's the only inevitability, so enjoy each day you get, and be happy about it - do not fear the reaper :)

Sounds like a song that I heard before. Live like you were dying or something like that.

I know that feeling. I remember being really little and looking up to the 8th graders and thinking: They look so old! That'll never be me! Now I'm going into 10th! It's sad how time flys.

It seemed like just yesterday i was playing tag with my freinds during recess in third grade and now im trying to write my report for the final exam of senior year. its like i have been dreaming :snoring: for the last 9 years and my wakeup call is the harsh sting of the real world.

The "Real World" is nothing but a saying made up by someone to scare kids into thinking that High School is so easy, and when they get out, it'll be SO hard. Really, High School is probably one of the hardest parts of your life. Everyone is tempted into sex, drugs, alcohol. And breaking the law. Peer pressure is a witch, lemme tell ya.

Don't be so certain. One who has never been out there can never know. The best thing you can do is stay mentally prepared for all of it.

You have no way of knowing whether or not I've really been "out into the 'Real World'"

All you have to do is get a job, and pay rent or pay for a car or whatever. And make sure you know, you stay alive and all.

I hate to say this, Paige, you're getting on my bad side with that defense. If you have, say you have, if you haven't don't. My older brother thought that "The Real World" speech was just a method to scare him and he did not end up very well. Whatever it is, it's important to always be mentally prepared for the worst.

I can honestly say that I have never been temped into drugs or alcohol and I break the law by choice. I'm the one who set up my drag racing "syndicate" so it was my choice.

Sorry. I just hate how people just assume that I am like soooo young, and I haven't been through anything, and I don't know anything because I am young, immature, and naive.

Well, I am most certainly not. I may be young, but I have seen and experienced some things that not many young people do. I've seen and gone through things with my older sister, or I've had her explain things or teach me or show me things about life, and what will happen. I watch her, and even though I am not quite out in the real world myself, It's almost like I have been because I watch her. Like, you watch your mom cook something, and then you can do it just like that, or you watch your dad fix something, and you can do that exact thing again just like he had done it. Kind of like that.
