Sad News Concerning Linkin Park

Postby Stephen (x1) » Sat May 07, 2005 10:25 pm

If you are a fan of Linkin Park, please read my articles below!

Linkin Park Wants Out
There has been some upsetting news about Linkin Park recently, including a dispute with Warner Music Group. It seems that the new owners of Warner Music Group, Linkin Park's label, has received a grant of money and yet it won't give any of the money to its artists' promotions. This is making Linkin Park insecure about WMG, whom made huge budget cuts in promotion and marketing.

"We couldn't be more grateful for the support we receive from all our fans around the world," a Linkin Park member stated. "We feel a responsibility to get great music to our fans. Unfortunately, we believe that we can't accomplish that effectively with the current Warner Music."

The band, which is now trying to terminate their contract with WMG, had just started work on their fourth album and are not sure how this will affect it. LP is trying to figure out ways to get new music to fans. They may now have to do more touring if they are released from WMG.

Linkin Park also made threats on May 2 to allow their fans to tape-record their concerts legally and for free, in an attempt to get out of their contract. So far, WMG and LP have not returned any calls on the matter.

Chester Bennington On His Own
Linkin Park's lead singer Chester Bennington is on his own. He is in the process of a divorce with Samantha, his wife of 8 years. It has been revealed that in the legal papers, there is a dispute over the custody of their three-year-old son Draven. "I have every ability to care and nurture him," Bennington said last week. The custody had not yet been decided as of last Friday.

When the Linkin Park vocalist married Samantha in 1996, he stated that she helped him with his emotional torture he suffered. Chester was, before he married, addicted to cocaine and was also sexually abused as a child.

Thanks for the info... I wonder why most music artists are addicted to drugs?

Meh. I was never a big fan of Linkin Park... They don't have much artistic vision IMO.

I know, it sucks. But did anyone like my writing?

You know, I feel like Chester, sort of. Well, I don't do drugs, or get abused...but the emotional torture...maybe a little bit.

Wow....you guys don't really know much bout toture do you? <*torture fan right here :D *

I'm sorry to say this but...I'm glad LP is separating....I've never really liked them....nice musicians but horrible lyrics and songs...again, sorry if I'm insulting anyone by flaming LP. Maybe now that the Lead singer's out the horrible lyrics won't be as...horrible (that is, of course, only if he's the writer).

It's strange really...I've heard many LP songs and they usually deal with common day problems and feelings...something I consider unsubstatial and comercial (very)...also, one willing fan could get the wrong idea upon listening to their Lyrics (clasyfing himself(herself) as a hurt soul when there's no one as lucky as him(her)). I say it's starnge becasue, well...having a horrible past usually allows one a wide range of emotions, though now that I think about the superficial feelings dealt with in the songs, I'm getting the idea that the Lead Singer refuses to cope with his past...focusing more on the shortlasting moments than the transcending events....

I can see why you would dislike their lyrics. I personally dont mind, because it helps me deal with things going on with my own life. Every time Im feeling down, I pop in "hybrid theory" and it helps me relax. Not many other bands help like that (to me). LP is (IMO) one of the greatest bands around. I also like Yellowcard, Paparoach, (some of) Limp bisket, and others as well. We all have are own opinion, so there is no use trying to say that linkin park doesnt suck. If you think so, then thats cool.

Hmm...Mood lifters....that's like saying Good Charlotte is punk, in ways that, while they do have the characteristics to be labeled as Mood Lifters...they lack any kind of artistic prowess to be even considered more than a passing trend

Wow, I think we have *exactly* the same thoughts on this topic, Werwek. That's pretty cool....

I think the same thing about Evanescence. *eyetwitch*

That's not limited to bands, unfortunately. That really ticks me off, too. :arg:

I liked Linkin Park 'til I heard "Breaking the Habit". Enough said.

Can we please stop with the spam on this one? And I don't care if you hate LP. Vili and I love it so I decided to write those articles. I'm beginning to wonder if I should have written them...

When I just wanted to post these without much feedback, I consider it spam.

Hahaha, well if you didn't want much feedback, why did you post it to a forum?

So you could read it.

And I would have said "No feedback please" in the first post, but no one would listen, probably.

That's retarded.

Just... wow. How can you *possibly* expect to post something to a *forum* (which was created for long discussions with other members) and not get feedback?

I think you're just mad that not everyone's on your side.
