This is not the thread for debating homosexuality - so don't. This is the thread for discussing the Phelps family - if you want to debate about the belief systems that spawned this group (they are a product of right-wing Christianity even if they are not the fair representation of it), go to the relevant thread.

Now, on topic - some people have asked what else Phelps preaches against:
America, mostly - he insists events like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the Utah and Virgina Mining Disasters are God's wrath upon America for allowing homosexuals equal rights (or as he puts it, for being 'f*g enablers'). Phelps habitually flies upside-down American flags at his rallies and pickets (the maritime signal for distress).
He also preaches against Canada (because they refused him entry into their country - ROCK ON CANADA!

A: Disagrees or fights against him
B: Gives him an opportunity for attention
During a documentary on the Phelps made by the BBC, the journalist involved was regularly allowed into the Westboro Church compound and found picket signs slandering (of all people) Princess Diana, for being another 'f*g enabler', even though she was perhaps the most humanitarian figure of her time. Other placards include 'Thank God for Dead Miners', 'America is doomed' and 'God is YOUR Enemy'.
Other targets include Mr Rogers, Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, Jews, Muslims, Catholics, the victims of the Space Shuttle Colombia (who according to Phelps should have used their status as astronauts to publically denounce homosexuals, and were killed by God for not having done so), Frank Sinatra and Dick Cheney and his family.
Phelps also believes that only an 'elect' chosen few from all of humanity past present and future will enter into Heaven, and that those 'elect' are himself and his followers - anyone else need not apply. In the documentary there was a sickening scene where some of Phelps' grandchildren were interviewed, and a sweet little five-year old girl open talked about how she loves being one of the 'elect' and how she's glad everyone else is going to Hell.
Some of Phelps' children who left the church & family have been effectively 'excommunicated' - they've told stories of sexual abuse from him as children and described him as a sick mind clamoring for attention.
He also proclaimed his support for Saddam Hussein at one time, and claims that his slogan of 'God hates f*gs' is taken from the bible, not just metaphorically but literally, basing this statement upon an extract from Genesis referring to Sodom and Gomorrah, and claiming that references to cigarettes (as in firewood) allows him to use the modern slander 'f*g' and hence claim 'God hates f*gs' is divine write.
That's not only sickening on a human level, it's a disgusting abuse of English.
I'm loathe to provide links to external sources for this material, because of the young children on LF who may view this thread - however if you are interested, a little research will turn up a phenomenal amount of filth.
I'd like to end with one quote of Phelps referring to the London Terrorist Bombings:
On July 8, 2005, the WBC released a statement in celebration of the 7 July 2005 London bombings of the public transport system of that city, which killed 55 people. The statement, aside from calling Queen Elizabeth II "Queen of eggs", Tony Blair an "Anti-Christ egg" and Cherie Blair a "bitch barrister", also proclaimed: "Thank God for the bombing of London's subway today - July 7, 2005 - wherein dozens were killed and hundreds seriously injured. Wish it was many more."
