I know there are a lot out there such as xanga, myspace, facebook, and more. I, personally don't have one myself, but I wanted to see other people's opinions or if people could explain why some sites are better than others.

So discuss, and/or post your own here

PS. I checked through, and I saw that there were some topics kind of like this like those other internet sites, and game contact sites, but I don't think this could really qualify as one of those. If moderator/administrator does think this is a duplicate thread, then can you please lock the thread and post a link to a topic that would suffice?

Actually, given the fact that this is less of a "list yourself on ____" thread and more of an actual discussion about said places, I don't see why it shouldn't remain open. I don't remember any similar threads in recent memory, but any of the other staff can feel free to correct me on that xD;;

As for me, the only "social networking" membership I've got is Myspace xD; (Yes I've got a Myspace ;P xD ). ...I don't know if LJ counts or not though. But anyway, I don't have any of the others like Facebook (...technically) or anything ^^; However, for what it counts, I will say I like LJ more than Myspace, even though they can't really be compared xDDD


EDIT: *blinks* Wait. Would Gaia Online count as one of those sites?

I have a Gaia, yesh, I have a dART, but I really only use small to medum sized forums for socialising. I really don't see much of the point of anything else...

I have a Facebook, but the five friends I know who also have a FB account have nothing remotely interesting to say when they're posting. Bit sad really. *sips tea*
But on topic, I hear that Facebook has better security and privacy options. Other than that, I don't really know what services are better than others.
I'm curious, what is LJ? ^^
