I'm banking on the apocalypse myself (though maybe not as soon as some claim).

From the two choices given, a big crunch sounds like the nicer one, but heat death appears more likely right now.

Hmm, the Second Law of Thermodynamics....

IMO, the apocalypse (that has to be the hardest word to spell in the english language) won't be for at least a few more years.

mentally the only thing that makes sense.... is that it'll keep expanding until it hits something and it will simply take that forum (like spelt liquid)

I don't think it can collapse inward on its self.... seeing as how space is mostly nothing with a rock or two floating around in it.

I wish the Mayans were a little more specific on the events that would take place on December 12th, 2012. It'd be a good excuse to be a High School dropout and make a living on cheeseburger wrappers, because, hey, what good will that Ph.D. do you when Armageddon, or the apocalypse is dropping down on you?

I am definitely going to have a video camera for the occasion. Whether the recorder will make it alive after whatever happens, we have yet to know for sure.

On a more serious note, though, isn't this about the time of a 5-6,000 year cycle will come to an end that the Bible?

Actually, the Bible doesn't say anything about the "when" of the Apocalypse; given how people have historically reacted to end-of-the-world predictions, that's probably a good thing.

You know, peole in my part of the country said that the world would ens, so they put up postes, and then the world didn't end, and the posters are still up, in perfect condition.
Fifteen years later.
In New England Weather.
We rain mud.

I honestly think I'm fifteen, and there's no absolutely certain way to know anyways, so you might as well go on with life how it is. That's my view for the apocolypse.

And for the scientific view, I think either a big crunch whould work, or a big snap, when all the tention between atoms breaks, and it all explodes again.
