Throw in some scanners for virtualization, and Lyoko is that much closer to being a reality.

CODE : SECOND LIFE?

Though that does sound really cool. But renting an AI baby, if I'm reading it right, sounds really, really creepy. Really, really creepy.

Sounds interesting. It's a pretty revolutionary theory I can't believe no one ever thought of it before.

Heh. Become a mother without actually getting married or...yah.

It sounds pretty cool, too me. But I just hope it doesn't get out of hand like Xana. I can see it now:

"SECOND LIFE IS TRYING TO ELIMINATE US NOW. IT IS TOO POWERFUL:-"

Hahahahaha, yeah! :*D

Yeah...that does sound like something that could totally turn into XANA if someone weren't careful to make sure the AIs didn't become "self-aware". ^^;

*blinks* On the plus side though, this could also mean that one day, each and every one of us could own our very own William-Clone (or the closest available equivalent). :D

XD

An intelligent, learning entity with only cold logic as its guide and no emotions or compassion is a very dangerous thing. I hope these scientists are taking the HAL complex into consideration when programming these things. We already have enough psychopathic entities roaming freely across the net. Muahahaha. *sips tea* What are you looking at me for?

A logical AI wouldn't be a threat as long as it remained dependent on humanity; if it can't get off the server of whoever's running it, then it should realize that it shouldn't tick off the people at the console.

Now if it was able to hack its way out of the server, hack into another system, and copy itself over, then we'd have a problem. Especially if it loaded itself onto the Storm botnet... Hopefully, if there was an AI smart enough to be capable of that, it would be kept on a mathematically proven, secure system. Of course, if it was really smart, it could trick its keepers into letting it out anyway...

In any case, virtual toddlers are creepy.

In TV and movies, once an AI becomes aware that it is different from and dominated by humanity, it either gets angry about being inferior and stamps out all the humans, or goes crazy about being superior and stamps out all the humans. >8D

OMG WHERE CAN I BAY 1.
