Just an Idea

I had a thought. It's kind of a hassle to track down the threads on the episode discussion page for each specific episode, so I was thinking...

What if we put subtopics on the episode discussion forum? There would be one for each season, and it might just help keep things a little more organized.

I don't think this forum type supports sub-forums. This is a PhpBB forum, not an IPB. I wish we could do that too, though...
thank you all for the good memories <3

Actually, Erynn had been talking about the newer version of PHPbb, which allows subforums. Unfortunately, We risk losing all of LF's history.

Or, a lovely mod or admin could take twenty minutes out of their lives to create stickies with listed links to the episode topics. I... don't think it's worth the sacrifice of LF's history.

Season 2 episode threads.
Season 3 episode threads.

It's been there sticked for months... and yet, you didn't paid any attention to it.

...Didn't pay.

I thought we had those, but I couldn't remember. We lack S1, though.

Grammar nazi -.-

Anyway, I think the sticky is enough for us. It's not really that big of a deal.

That's becuase not every Season 1 episode has a thread yet. When I tried to create one, for instance, it was ignored completely until a n00b bumped it months later. The interest to discuss S1 episodes just isn't there like it is when a fresh episode rolls down the pipeline.

Actually, whether of not you lose all the forum data in the switch to PHPBB2 depends on whether or not you can backup the data. Since Erynn has custom rank images and such, I am assuming she has server access. Therefore, there should be a nifty little button in the Admin CP that says "Backup Data". Where it backs it up, I don't know. But I would assume that would let you save the forum data and import it into a new one. Note: I am not 100% sure if that's how it works or not.

Can't risk that, now can we? I agree with AngelBolt

There is no risk of losing data. All that needs to be done is the creation of a new folder in the root where LF is. Install phpBB codenamed "Olympus" in the folder. Then, use the upgrade option. There are ways to do it without overwriting the older one.

while($_SERVER[PHP_SELF])
{
echo "Jesus pwns!";

If I recall correctly, there won't be loss of anything(posts, forums) when upgrading phpBB.

In the generic Admin CP, any admin can access that. No server access needed. :P
But I assume you are talking about this?

Yeah, when doing something drastic(like upgrading) you back it up, and it saves to your computer, just for safety.

That's exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for clearing that up.
