If someone were to post some inappropriate content and then edited that content out, could the administrators or moderators here look into this person's editing history on this post and see the inappropriate content?

Now about sites that do have these modifications, if it is a site that doesn't display that edit notice you see at the bottom of posts when you edit them (unlike the site known as TV.com in which when you edit posts, the edit notice is displayed all the time), could the administrators/moderators still look into the edit history of posts that have been edited (but don't display that little edit notice)? Or does it require that edit notice in order for the edit history to be viewed?
