First time Rules?

Okay, I've noticed that lots and lots of people on the fanfictions page try and put their fics up on the threads, without any sort of link.

What I was thinking was that for the people starting a thread for the first time, on any forum, it automatically shows the rules beforehand.

What do you guys think?

If you can program it, sure.

I vaugely remember something about a graphic productuion website that made you highlight the TOS before letting you view any of the site to copy anything from it. Mabey the idea can be adapted to PHPbb forums?

I don't know, I don't really know anything about programing.

...Aside from simple commands, like how to make the URL and image things appear in these boxes, but that's about it.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything we can do. What you've suggested is, to my knowledge, pretty impossible to code on a board xD; It's up to them to read the rules anyway, not for us to shove it in their faces. And honestly, it's their own fault if they get in trouble because they didn't read the rules xD;

Interesting idea...but as AG said, they would have to read the rules first...you can do all of that fancy stuff..but if they dont pay attention to it and just copy and stuff..it wont be any different than it is now.

Honestly, I see the same sort of thing as "ToS readings" happening-- Meaning, the whole "Oh I didn't read the ToS I just clicked I Agree". Plus, there's the fact that the admins can't do that, without Erynn xD;

It's ultimately their responsibility, not ours.
