Today, I will be group-locking Big Kids Only.

Group-locking, for those of you who do not know, is where I make a group of members who *can* see BKO, and the rest won't be able to at all.

But don't be worried, guys... unless I'm sure you're under 13, you'll be in the group.

This is not because you're all bad users or anything; and this certainly isn't because I don't like anybody... but with all the new little members and such, I just want to keep everyone safe online.

So I'll be working on getting the groups ready and fixing the stuff on BKO in the Rules/FAQ forum.

More details on this later. (There are a few things I haven't mentioned, mainly pertaining to new users and how they get into the group/etc.)

Okay, the group is all finished. The only reason why you might not be in the group is if a) you never posted, or b) I know for a fact that you aren't 13.

New users policy:

Before you can become part of the BKO group, you must be a user for one week and accumulate a post count of at least 30. That's also assuming you're 13 or older, of course.

That's all. Shouldn't be an issue for any of you... of course comments/etc are welcome (as long as they're constructive.)

Oh, one more thing; If you would like to opt out of viewing BKO (even though you're within the established criteria) you may do so... just post here or drop me a PM if you would rather be anonymous.

Hmn, would the age limit have something to do with your own age? Or is that just a little coincidence? Well maybe it will be needed cpnsidering the newer content in BKO, although I don't like the idea of censorship. You are aware it's going to be a pain it the [edited] for you to keep updating right?

Actually, all websites that have mature content in them are required to have a 13+ age limit on them. The law says so. It's called the Child Protection Act; google it sometime. I have nothing to do with the censorship... it's not my choice, unless I wanted LF to get shut down.

I'm willing to keep it updated though... LF doesn't get 50 new members every day, so it won't be too hard. ^_^

Anyways I really wasn't suggesting that you discard the new system I was simply stating my opinion. I acknoledge that most of my opinions are controversial, usually because the law doesn't like them.

Well, if I had things exactly my way, I'd let people be a lot more free in terms of language in posts, but because a lot of kids are on this forum or read the posts it makes me a little uncomfortable. And the CPA is real, I promise you.

Guests cannot see BKO. And if you see something like Guest with Status Big Kids Only, that's just something Erynn explained before at Dude!

No... I mean before authenticating I am able to see the BKO section, when I click on it, it tells me to login. In Dude! Erynn said some guests were web crawler bots.

Also I just wanted to say that if you give BKO privileges to someone you shouldn't take them away. I think thats a bit mean, although ad admin that decision is reserved for you.
