If you received an email yesterday from the forum that confused you (about being added to a group) here is your explanation.

Basically, we're finally carrying out something that we have been planning for quite a while now. Like BKO, you must now meet certain conditions before you can post in the VA forum. Unlike BKO, however, is that even if you aren't yet in the group that allows posting at VAR, you can still read the posts there. (You just can't reply to them.)

Why are we doing this?

This is an extra measure to avoid spam. Too many people have been going there and posting pointless things, which is really annoying on everyone's part. This has been going on for long enough, and frankly we're all sick of mothering some of you guys. So, to the newbies and those of you who were left out of the group for other reasons, once you've shown that you're mature individuals and aren't going to be a pain, you'll be added to the group.

We realize that doing this will definitely step on some toes; for that we are truly sorry. But if this will help stop spam, it's probably worth it.


As of this moment, everyone who meets standard requirements is in the group. If you feel a mistake has been made and you deserve access, PM me and we'll talk.

Yes, I have to agree. It's probably unsettling to go to the forum and see 20-someodd posts with the same question. It would probably end up with:

"Gee, I like Lyoko Freak and some of the people, but the spam is just to much."

I'd get like that if I had to sort through all that spam!
So definitely a good idea, Erynn!

It is. And the board was getting large enough that it was needed. There comes a point where there's so much posting that it just isn't possible for a mod to look in on the thread every so often and catch everything. Slashdot went through similar growing pains that led to the development of their moderation system. When everything's wired together via the Internet, you don't need a ton of success to become a victim of it.

But I'm digressing. Good call, Star Way.
