Forum Messing Up?

PHPMyAdmin-> Click on the left the button that says phpBB_posts

then on the top in the right frame, click search. Now, in IPB things are probably a bit different, but I have a field called "author_name", and I would put TB3 in there to search. Then it should find his posts if they still exist.

Edit: According to vchat's username it would probably be post_username. Type TB3 in there, if VChat's method doesn't work.

and was that under phpbb_users or phpbb_posts ?. and did you search under poster_id or post_username as halospree suggested? because on my end, post_username is all blank. the whole way down. poster_id should work.

You tried both methods? If so... TB3 and all his posts are gone. No way to retrieve them unless you have an SQL backup or your webhost does.

This is not good. Everything got thrown into chaos.

BTW I was watching "The Girl of the Dreams" ep today... I got a clear view of the code. Looks more like PHP than I thought. (OMG XANA ATTACK!!!!)

Yes! His posts are still there! He needs to sign up again then you need to edit his user to have his old user ID then everything should be fixed.

I can't do that, unfortunately. This software doesn't allow you to change post counts (beyond deleting their posts and lowering it, I mean..)

I hate to sound like a fool... but WTF exactly happened? TB3's account got deleted, his threads too... then he got restored and is now back. I heard someone hacked Erynn's account... someone please give me a summary of what happened today. It's weird.

I find it a bit strange as well.

Spontaeneously my account vanished - all my posts and threads too. I was horrified and on the verge of tears.

And then all of these guys came together and set to making it all right again - and when Erynn lightened the mood by joking about the Tech thread being a threat to XANA I swear I hugged the monitor.

VChat disassembled the code, built a forum to experiment on and then guided Erynn through restoration. Halo and Lotho supported withtheir own advice, and it worked.

This ain't a website, this is a community, and you guys make me feel valued.

Currently though there appear to be TWO TB3 accounts - the old one and a new one. I believe research is now looking into a transfusion of the two.

That's the lowdown, and as my new siggie says - worship them!

EDIT:

Okay, really weird - the two TB3 accounts seem to be cross linked. Neither have the correct post tally, but if you go to my profile and click on my list of posts you'll find ALL of them - past and present.

Weird. This might be a first in forum mechanics.
