I noticed that several CL episodes are being removed from YouTube.

Yep, Moonscoop cleaned them out a while back. It's part of how I found LF in my endless Google searches for episodes

Not just several. They've been doing this for a year or so now, clearing out every episode they can lay their hands on.

Yeah, a lot of the times people just report stuff any try to be helpful and all that, even if the piece is legal, or the company just gives a vague cease and desist message.

Then again it's gotten to the point that Youtube is pulling in money by having large companies sign up for exclusive rights, and have all other coverage by third parties removed from the site.

And what's annoying is that only the first third or so of the later episodes is missing. Now I have to wait until SO many Fridays from now to download... *facepalm*

Do they need a reason other than copyright infringement? *blinks* It is their licensed property after all...

...Course it would be nice if they'd then release the rest of the season DVDs as a trade off, seeing as we don't have that many other ways to view episodes legitimately...buuuut, that's just IMO. >_> <_<

If they're removing episodes, it's either a) simple copyright or b) they're planning on restarting DVD releases. It is not c) they're being mean, because large companies have better things to do. Still, tis a shame...

I noticed that YouTube has done some things where companies will release lesser titles online legally (companies like Funimation), but I'm not gonna get my hopes up for that.

It's not. ; That's what she's saying. That companies don't take down videos because they "feel like being mean to the fans" or something like that. They take them down because they either have a legal right too, or because they plan on distributing the content themselves, possibly in some other fashion.

There's a lot of that, but luckily, Dailymotion makes it fairly simple to sort English ones out from French.

Hopefully Moonscoop does have plans for DVDs of other episodes. Or at least a release on the iTunes Store outside of France.
