Yes, but Yumi has largely assimilated Western culture. Aelita is still trying to find her way in the world she had forgotten.

One thing Yumi is not is naive. She has a good idea of the world around her and it is not strange to her as it is to Aelita and to Starfire.

Azarath is a different dimension, actually. Don't really know the specifics since I'm not a fan of the comics, just the TV show, but if you really want to know more TitansTower.com is a good resource. I definetly think Aelita is more like Starfire in other ways. They're both very kind hearted people who just want everyone to get along

erm...maybe this is the anti-OBHWF shipper in me talking, but it sounds like you're trying hard to match up the ships. I still think Ron is more like Odd . (On the other hand, maybe I've just been watching the movies too much. I'm curious to hear the reasoning for Ron as Ulrich)

Yup, that's him. XANA usually is more Trigon-ish, but when he's trying to emotionally break up the team, like in Franz Hopper, he's more like Slade.

I do...more so than Ulrich. Ulrich is not afraid of spiders and doesn't really act alot like Ron all the time. Actually...now that I think about it...William is afraid of spiders...*snickers*

I would cast Odd as either Fred or George though, over Ron. Just since he's such a practical joker.

Maybe Lavender as Sissy? (That also works quite well with Ron as Ulrich, even Ron/Ulrich still seems a bit strange to me) That's actually an interesting point about Ron and William both being afraid of hights, but they don't have much else in common

For the Harry Potter thing, I chose Ulrich as Ron because... It just fit. Ulrich is well know for being grumpy and Ron tends to get crabby when he is constantly overshadowed by Harry. But if you recall Ron gets jealous of anything Hermione does with another boy like Ulrich does with Yumi and since Yumi fit as Hermione provided Jeremy was Harry, that works too, which is maybe why you thought I was trying to match up ships. It did work out that way but that honestly wasnt my first thought. Ron is kind of an Odd/Ulrich hybrid. He is a joker- that's the Odd part- but he can also be crabby and jealous- Ulrich. Hmm...

As for Crabbe/Goyle, yes I know Herb is smart but with regards to Crabbe/Goyle, one of them is smarter than the other (Crabbe smarter than Goyle, I believe) as Ron once said something along those lines in I think book 6. He also mentioned that Goyle nearly got held back for failing exams. Anyway I know Herb/Nicholas=Crabbe/Goyle is not a perfect parallel, but I tried my best.

I'm going to stand by what I said as Jeremy for Harry. I don't know why but the first thing I thought when I compared Harry Potter to CL, Jeremy as Harry came to my mind. There's just something about them that is unbelievably similar to me. Not a perfect parallel, again, as I know Jeremy is brilliant, and Harry is about average, but personality wise, Jeremy I think is very comparable to Harry in the books. (Harry in the movies I believe they over dramatized, although they were still excellent. You mentioned you watched the movies, and while I was doing this I was thinking almost solely of the book characters, so maybe that's where we have a difference of opinion. Or maybe not. I don't know. I thought the movie characters were very good, but I do think they were a bit different than the book characters. )

Princess Emeraude is the "pillar" of Cephiro, whose prayers can effect the entire world of Cephiro. In a certain way, Cephiro is a reflection of Princess Emeraude's heart. When Emeraude falls in love with Zagato, she is unable to concentrate on her prayers anymore and as the result, Cephiro becomes twisted by chaos, overrun by monsters and wars. Emeraude's age is thought to be quite old, but she always appears to be a little girl.
The seiyuu who brought the character of Emeraude alive is the talented Japanese Megumi Ogata, who has made a succesful career as an artist in Japan.

Aelita is similar and different to Emeraude at the same time. Aelita, in S1 and S2, is regarded as a part of Lyoko, and is sometimes regarded as the pillar of Lyoko. Emeraude is the "Hashira" ("Pillar") of Cephiro. Aelita's love for Jeremie does not affect Lyoko's stability much, but if Emeraude falls in love, Cephiro slowly crumbles and dies.
