Of course not. A Myspace message wouldn't be enough verifiable proof for them.

If this does materialise, could be interesting.

So... what conclusions have been made of this.

My prime concern is to make sure that corporate corporateness and persnickety writers don't ruin the saga. Another season would be FANTASTIC... they just have to get it right.

I'm sure that a lot of Lyoko fans out there know how to revive the show and make it awesome.

That's the first problem right there - we 'assume' we know what's best for the show, while not considering what really goes on behind-the-scenes. From contact with the production crew in Paris, I can say that CL's production history is a very long and complex, in some cases sordid affair.

We must also face the fact that the two guiding lights of the show to date, Script Editor/Storywriter Sophie Decroisette and Director Jerome Mouscadet, have left Moonscoop and are presently working in pastures new on a new show.

This means that CL has been left in the hands of Moonscoop, specifically the DiSabatino brothers and Nicholas Atlan, its producers and executive producers; essentially Moonscoop's inner circle, and this ties into the most important thing we must remember; that Code Lyoko is a business. We love it dearly, but at brass-tacks, it is a money-making franchise (indeed, the transformation of Antefilms Entertainment into Moonscoop was apparently fianced by the early success of CL) that currently is seeking to branch out into new fields, rather than just the expensive-to-produce-with-no-garuntee-of-financial-returns cartoon.

And finally, the idea that fans should be involved in the production is dangerous ground indeed; there's a whole litany of financial, legal, copyright issues etc. that would come into play; my visit to Paris alone, where I basically chatted to the production crew and cast, and sat in on a recording session, caused a bit of a backlash in the higher levels of the company, and I was only there as a passive observer.

So for now, the best thing we can do is wait and see, and at most, write polite letters and emails to Moonscoop, or their distribution wing, Taffy Entertainment, saying that we'd support further episodes of Code Lyoko, or that we'd purchase translated copies of the new novels. Right now, demonstrating to Moonscoop that the fanbase exists and still supports their product is a very positive thing.

I agree entirely.

You see, I am taking shots in the dark here. And that's why instead of sending huge e-mails to Moonscoop, I am kind of milling around here first. Trying to see what I can piece together. Every reply like this adds to my understanding of the concept, and, eventually, will help reach conclusions... at least for me.

I know money indeed may play a factor. And I do have to investigate that a little more... Basically, my opinion, as of now (remember, I'm still learning) it that they don't need to have a big bang to continue it. I mean... sure... there would have to something considerably large to relaunch the show... but I'm pretty sure that Moonscoop knows what happens when you take things to excess...

Like I said, I'm still fitting the pieces together, so feel free to help me with corrections once and a while.
