Season 3 started quite well... but it's getting stale for moments. And the staleness is growing.

Some of you people got stubbornly stuck in your heads that Code Lyoko is the best thing in this world. Wrong. Heck, yesterday I watched Tidal Wave. It wasn't really that cool. But thank God I tuned in to The CW and Smackdown made it up for me.

To each their own.

Naturally, if one likes another show better than something else, no matter what the other show does it won't appear better than the show one likes best.

However, for those of us that have CL as their ultimate favorite show at the moment, it's quite natural that we find it the best.

If you're an absolute wrestling fan, you'll think wrestling's the best. If you're an absolute X-Files fan, you'll feel that X-Files is the best. And if you're an absolute CL fan you'll feel that CL's the best.

Putting someone down for liking what they like best, as opposed to liking something that one personally likes, seems a tad unfair, no? ^^

I'm not an absolute fan of nothing at all. Although I may like watching Smackdown or Raw (it's not like it was during the Attitude era), years ago I wasn't watching it (it stopped airing in Peru for some years). I changed my tv tastes during the years. I liked BTVS, Angel, SATC, Saint Seiya and other shows...

I still like Code Lyoko, but the way some episodes are done aren't just the way I liked. I just don't feel hyped about Season 3 and the options of the poll aren't something sincere enough for me to put a honest vote about Season 3.

Fair enough. But to put down others for feeling that CL is the best isn't fair.

You specificly said that "Some of you people got stubbornly stuck in your heads that Code Lyoko is the best thing in this world. Wrong."

If that's your own personal opinion, that's fine and I totally respect that, but if you're saying it as meaning that anyone who feels Code Lyoko is the best is factually and realistically wrong and flawed in their thinking, that's a bit unfair.

I didn't meant that as you're thinking. It's more like this way: "Hey, it's cool that you like Code Lyoko and it has become your number one show currently, but you have to admit some parts of it aren't well done. Not everything is perfect from it. And you would be lying to yourself if you thought everything was absolutely perfect."

Bravo Mew! :notworthy:

Like she said, opinions are entirely subjective and it's hardly fair to lambast someone for their opinion - not to sound like we're picking on you though Rodri.

Now here's the thing - I was NOT excited about Season Three - even after my trip to Paris I could not summon much enthusiasm.

Now though...I'M STOKED!

Sure, this series is not perfect - but it works! The characters are still fresh and real, the tone and atmosphere are as rich as ever and Herman and Serge's music is being used to it's full potential - I'm hearing a lot of rare mixes in here as opposed to the usual themes being looped verbatim.

But what really gets me stoked about S3, is the animation and the plot.

To my eyes the 2D and 3D looks like it's never been better - and the sequences are becoming slicker, more fluid and more diverse - it feels altogether more 'polished' than what has gone before.

And even though this is a filler season I'm actually now constantly asking 'what's gonna happen next' - I feel it's brought back some of that S1 spirit in that each episode feels like a new adventure, as opposed to another Xana Attack or Possession - note as well that there has not been a single ep in S3 so far that relies solely on those elements for it's drive.

So, to those brilliant people at Moonscoop, Antefilms and Animation Services' Shanghai Studios, I salute you! :salute:

I agree with all of the people who posted on here.

Back in the day I was stupid and CL was the NUMBER ONE thing in my life. Now that I'm coming back into reality, it's not, I have a life and I need to use it to it's fullest. Not waste it on TV. But apparently...CL is the only thing I watch....

Might as well write on my tomb Stone "To our dear friend whom spent their teenage life watching CodeLyoko.)

Season 3 is a little but going down hill....in my opinion. Is there not anything EXCITED going to happen? Something that physically makes you fall off the couch? (Not that theirs anything like that on TV anyway...) And I mean FALL OFF THE COUCH.

????

So...Season 3 is going good for now. I'm not sure I'll watch Season 4 but...it depends the way S3 goes.

I see...but again, that's true of any show. Every show has it's flaws, so there's no "perfect show" no matter what way one looks at it.

Erm....well, in my case, I thought the Forest Region disappearing was definitely a "fall off the couch" moment. I know my jaw-dropped at the very least when I first saw it. XD

Yeah, same here, especially during the part where Aelita and Odd were falling and Odd yelled, "Jeremie, hurryyy...!"

Agreed. I mean, what's it gonna take for some people?

Rodri, you should be ashamed of yourself. You'd seriously rather watch grown men playfighting?

You meniton it like if it was the only thing I like. I'm not saying that Code Lyoko absolutely sucks. Just that when I look at Season 3 and then I look back at the past two seasons, Season 3 doesn't give me the same feeling of watching Code Lyoko compared to the past two seasons. I'm not feeling the pride of being a Code Lyoko fan compared to the other seasons where it seemed really exiciting to watch it. Now, Season 3 might be a filler season to connect between Season 2 and Season 4, but if it's going the way it is, maybe I won't be looking Season 4 with the same eyes.

I could many mention other shows that could be better than CL, but this isn't the topic for such thing. Surely, we can say that Digimon and Teen Titans aren't shows that outstand Code Lyoko.

MakeYourself has a valid argument and has every right to say what he said. (I mean, Hugo Chavez called Bush the devil, didn't he??? I'm still chuckling.)

My question to him is just "Why would you say that to us, anyway?" you are not going to change anyone's opinion and sure aren't going to make any new friends that way.

But still, CL is one of those shows that can just go off in so many different directions, just because the potential of its background content is so vast. As long as the show keeps their writers, I don't think that there should be any worry of the season nose-diving.

Thank you for understanding my point. (Yes, Chávez said that to Bush. And that's just a soft word for Chávez to Bush)

I think at the time I've said that, I was thinking for myself. I opened my eyes after watching the episodes I've seen and Season 3 isn't (with the exception of 2 or 3 episodes) nearly as good as Season 1 or Season 2 was. Comparing it to another show that I happen to like got me into some people yelling at me, which I can counterattack if it's necesarry. Hey, at least, I am vocal about what I've said about CL. I've heard from other members of this forum that have said that the writers suck, the voice acting sucked (I'm not talking about BBofC), that CL only rocks in your own way or in your own imagination it could only rock, that its potential is wasted by the age rating it has, and other stuff of the sort.

Yes, CL has a lot of potential to become an awesome show. What they should do is raise the age rating up a little bit at least. The rating for 7 years olds is limiting the show to have a greater potential than it already has.

My biggest problem is: so far, the top killers on Lyoko are Aelita and Odd. When AELITA has more kills then Ulrich, I have a problem.

I can't help but agree with Rodri. Code Lyoko...it's kinda lost its shine for me. I mean, I still watch the S3 episodes as soon as possible, but unlike last season, I haven't felt inspired enough to obsess over it with my friends. Final Fantasy and my funnies (The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Simpsons, etc.) have taken that spot instead. I did like the fact that William was portayed in a more positive light than usual (although I wish they'd just had him realize that he and Yumi are only friends), but some of XANA's attacks have been...lacking. The food monster, for example.

Not to say I dislike CL or anything; my Yumi action figure (along with my Final Fantasy and Charmed figures) is one of my favorite toys. But still. I would have expected a little more from S3.

But then again, this is coming from the girl who only found out when the third season started a couple of days before the actual showing. Oh well.

I demand a recount. Aelita's only been active for part of season, after all.

Don't be daft. "Energy Field" is hogging the screen-time a bit, but what do you expect from the new toy? But the gang have hardly been sitting back and watching. And you saw what happens if Aelita is left without one of the others helping her; An entire sector went bye-bye.

Rob wrote:Yeah, I noticed. Ulrich is a <b>crappy</b> fighter...
>.<... That... I <i>really</i> don't agree with. In "Contact" Ulrich had to fight about two megatanks and managed to destroy both of them, when two more (I think it was two) came, Ulrich was able to hold his own against them without his overbike, which Aelita took to deactivate the tower in a different sector. In "Vertigo" Odd was able to defeat one megatank at the expense of his overboard while Yumi was de-virtualized in the process. And in "Final Mix" Yumi was able to defeat one megatank at the expense of her "life". Also, in "Straight to the Heart" Odd and Yumi were able to defeat one manta, each. Ulrich was able to defeat about one manta, and what, two or three creepers? I think Ulrich is the best fighter on Lyoko.

Well... as for S3, I think that it's pretty good. I'm not, like, excited beyond belief but I think it's good nonetheless. I, personally, think all the fighting on Lyoko has gotten much better, I loved seeing Odd bounce around the tarantulas in "Lyoko Minus One". The fighting in "Straight to the Heart" in the chamber where the Heart is kept was cool. I also think they're doing better with the cartoon action. William pwned, like, four XANAfied victims when he did that pole vault kick thing, and the fight with Ulrich and Yumi in "XANA Awakens Part 2" was nice as well. I feel, personally, that the 3D effects is a bit unnecessary. Course, what do I know.

Ulrich seems to be less emo, yay! I hated it when Ulrich acted all emo and such. Odd seems to be more reckless than usual, what with the jumping an every monster he sees. I mean, he ran right into the tarantulas and was bouncing all over them. As useful as it was, and as much as I enjoy seeing him do it, it was still reckless nonetheless.

I loved how Jim was hitting on Mrs. Hertz on the bus in "Lyoko Minus One", that was funny.

William draws better then I do, (When you see him in detention in "Lyoko Minus One" you can see him drawing a couple of not very good doodles). =P

That's all I can say for the moment. Hopefully I won't have a lot of homework assigned within the next couple days.
