This topic started on my 14th birthday...

Well, if I knew where to find the stuff in stores, I'd use the $100 I have to buy as much as I could. I mean, who needs savings? ;)

Most of it isn't available in stores unfortunately, and even when it is it's usually in low quantity.

Thankfully though, it all can be bought online if you're comfortable with that kind of thing. Amazon.com and Amazon.fr are very reliable and easy to work. Amazon.fr even has a link that will give you ordering directions in English, so that Americans (and those in the UK, I assume) can buy from them. :)

Also, since I never see the CL DVDs in stores, I suggest renting them from Netflix or such.

I saw two Code Lyoko DVDs in a Best Buy the other day. $9.99 each in the 'Japanese Anime section'. That's disapointing.

The funny thing is, I find the idea of his parents being artists completely unsurprising; I've heard of the della Robbias before. (For those who don't know... Luca, Andrea, and Giovanni della Robbia were three generations of Renaissance-era sculptors in Italy.) In fact, that's where I thought they got the name from, particularly when Odd in one episode commented on doing well on his Italian test. (The one where Jeremie "Couldn't string two words together.")

Disappointing because of the price or the location? I've got used to stuff turning up on the anime quarter-shelf (small store) that isn't supposed to be there. The Teen Titans and Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi being among them. (The Titans kind of look it, but Puffy Ami Yumi? It's like they're just there because there's two Asian women on the cover.)

Hmm...from what Matt Geczy has said in his thread, it looks like there'll be a bonus 'training' DVD released with some of the toys later this year.

Yep! The Della Robbias were famous for their ceramic ware...I think there are actually a few descendents still left today who carry on the tradition of the family trade...could Odd be the next heir to the Della Robbia legacy?

Also...there was a very famous painter from Norway in the later 1900s with the name Odd Nerdrum. Perhaps Odd's name comes from a combination of these two artistic individuals? ;)

I believe the toys are due out in late Summer, or early Fall of this year. No exact date has been set yet I think...although September seems to be the month of choice. :)

Just as long as I don't see little kids with the Odd figure (on the Overboard) going "WOOSH!!! VRRRROOOOMMM!!!! CRASH!!!! Eeekk!!! VRROOM!!!! Oh no, a kankerlot (spelling intended)! BEEW BEEW BEEW!!! Aacchhhkkk....*Odd dies* MOMMY!! I WANT ANOTHER!!!"

Sorry if you can't understand it.... there's no better way...

Are they releasing the others as well? Maybe their "Earth" versions also?

What I'd really like to see is a more orderly release of episodes on DVD. Not a season box set, though one could hope, but at least in episodic order. It's not as important with the first season, but it would really throw off season two episodes if they kept the current random format.

Um...Wartonchan, TaskForceLyoko, and Odd675...I hope you don't mind, but I edited the picture into a link in your posts. The picture itself was really big and was kind of stretching out all the text, making it hard to read everyone elses posts. I hope that was alright. ^_^

XD Actually...that would amuse me to no end! :*D Although maybe not so much if the kids suddenly decided to go "And here comes a giant FIST!!!"

It'll be interesting to see these guys in stores (and in kids play groups), to be sure. :D

He did say that artistic skill ran in his family.:) Scion of an art family, you could do worse.

Very possible. We live in a world where you can name a character Hiro Protagonist, so slapping two artist names together's not very far-fetched.:)

Would give them time to build up some momentum for the holidays. Anyone care to float a theory about how it will tie in with new episodes airing?

Just picture the kiddies high on sugar and trying to fit into a random scanner just to get into Lyoko.

XD That would be a pretty interesting revelation.

Jeremie: You're a descendant of the Della Robbia family?! The Della Robbia family!?

Odd: Well, sure...where else would I get a name like that?

Well...to be sure they've already tied it in with DVD sales. The insert for the first DVD had an ad that said when they'd be released. I'm not sure how they'd tie them in with the new episodes but to be sure they're going to tie them in with season 2, seeing as how Ulrich and Odd are both posed with their Lyoko vehicles as well. :)

XD No comment...although to be sure I hope they'll all be smart enough to know that just because Odd can do all those really cool flips and acrobatics and stuff...it doesn't mean they can do it too. Pokemon got into huge trouble in certain countries because kids started imitating the stunts they saw there...I hope CL doesn't run into the same problem. Heaven forbid they try to re-enact anything of the stunts in "Plagued"...Oi... O_o
