All the scenes at Kadic Academy will be shot in live-action, and those in the virtual world of Lyoko will be animated. And you should also expect other surprises…

Uggg... live action?! Exactly how many times has this been done successfully compared to the times that its completely utterly failed?
Guess 2012 will be the real death of CL.

Let's take a look, shall we?
Transformers
Death Note
Scott Pilgrim
The Mask
Watchmen
And pretty much every superhero move of the past four years.
All those I feel, or at least heard for some of them, were pretty good.

It's all very scientifical. |D

Yeah, those are movies, with actual movie-sized budgets. Live-action TV shows of animated TV shows seem, at best, a money grab. I sense a crap-ton of fail coming in the future. Plus, I'm sure a debate will be sparked as to whether S5 is canon or not, and flame wars will begin. Don't get me wrong - the news seems more legit that usual, which makes me happy. But it has a chance to also be The Last Airbender bad. And without M. Night, no less. I'll just say I am very much reserved about this at the moment.
And, of course, this could all be BS, like all the rumors before. Taking so long between S4 and S5 had pretty much killed any following the show once had in the U.S. Overseas, it might fly better. But I dunno.
As skeptical as I am of the Live action, this is true. It really is too soon to tell much of anything so I'm gonna be withholding judgement until I see some stills or clips.TheTsunamix wrote:Stonecreek wrote:TheTsunamix wrote:TheLQ wrote:XR! wrote:i don't think he is...

My point is that it being live-action alone is not enough to justify how bad it could become. Especially since we know nothing else about it.

I agree that a US release looks unlikely because of the dead fanbase, though

Thoughts anyone?
ccbtimewiz wrote:At first I was somewhat uneasy with the fact it would be live action, however with some more consideration of how it *could* be done, it actually *could* work. It all depends on how they film it, how the actors look, what scenes they use it for, how they emulate the school itself...
It can work very well... actually it could work more than well. However it needs to be done exactly right, which I completely doubt that it will.
Here's hoping they won't screw up too much...
