S3 Episode 5: Aelita

Plus, I want to konw about Aelita's Mother. DOES MOOSCOOP NOT GET THAT VIBE?

Not that this answer will contribute to the thread's purpose (since it's about the Aelita episode, not about anything concerning the characther), there might be three answers to your question. Mind you, I do not have the official answer to your question.

1) Aelita's mother was already dead before Aelita and Franz got into Lyoko. Or she got divorced and died later for any given reason.
2) Aelita's mother might be alive, but in some other part of the world.
3) Moonscoop doesn't care about her mother. This mother thing right now is not important enough for how the plot goes so far.

I won't deny that it would be interesting to see Aelita's past. But when you got 15 episodes for one Season, you can't waste time on a subject like that.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that in the biggining of the ep, when Aelita and Franz are in the scanners, their dialogue changed since, 'The Key'?

I didn't notice that wording change, but I did notice Franz's tone of voice was different during the "To a world where we will be safe." line. There was a lot more edge on it this time.

Maybe the whole difference can be explained as Aelita remembering more clearly now that she's been 'complete' for a while. Now that the poll is up, I have to say I actually liked this one a lot for a change, there was some real edge to it, but it turned out well through circumstance that didn't seem too contrived. Backstory and a small development for the win.

Listening to the first few minutes (all that I've seen so far), Franz sounds a bit...off, not quite in character, like Paul was going for something different from S2.

Why would XANA through all the trouble of protecting Aelita and shutting down the supercomputer when it runs exactly counter to what he wants?

It's just something to do with the acting. Whether it's part of a more detailed character portrait for Hopper or just a simple mistake remains to be seen.

Wow. It's a lot more fun commenting while watching than I thought. This episode was pretty filler-ish, IMO. (apart from Franz's DNA being found, which is yayish for Aelita and co.)

Why would XANA through all the trouble of protecting Aelita and shutting down the supercomputer when it runs exactly counter to what he wants?

Three reasons spring to mind.

1) It's XANA at his earliest stage and he can't exert the control he would later (No idea whether Franz being a few eggs short of an omlette would be a help or a hindrance there).

2) If, as TB3 suggested, XANA was based off of Franz brain waves, it's not unthinkable that XANA was hindered by Franz's love (and innate desire to protect) his daughter.

3) Somewhere in the Back of XANA's mind, he was already plotting to take the rest of the Keys to Lyoko.

I have no evidence, of course...

What an ep! Aelita at her finest! Wonderful flashback moments (if not enough) that gives some answers on what happened on June 6th. And poor Odd and his feet! He doesn't deserve all that verbal abuse! Jeremie was quite a jerk this episode. Calling them traitors! I place a Jihad on Jeremie's arse! One of the best this season!

A fantastic way for me to celebrate my first year as a C: fan!

This episode rocked. I just saw it...simply incredible. I liked how Franz appears as balls of light..that was awesome. The two times when Aelita cried, it was sad.

Rofl...clearly now it's obvious why Aelita was justifiably upset. Jeremie has a big mouth...And he really hasn't quite learned to choose his words more carefully either. X) (I don't think that was more a slip of the tongue as opposed to "meaning" something...He probably was intending to say that looking to a brighter future instead of all of the bad things that happened in the past would be healthier...but again...this is Jeremie.)

Jeremie and Ulrich in the library though...ROFL!!! Peanuts and wheatgerm? And that's an Odd recipe? ...That boy really can eat anything.

And William got "squirreled"!!! I so won't mind seeing more of him if these are the kinds of scenes he's going to get. That's hilarious! His expression was priceless! (X

Lol...Ulrich gulping when Odd told him he'd show him the solution he'd found later at night. *snickers* He knew he was toast. ^^
