about a few days ago, i received a copy of You Don't Know Jack Vol 1. i was filled with glee, excited that i could answer more trivia questions.
i pop the cd in and install the game, then clicking on the bald head that is the exe, i get this
"ydkj.exe cannot open because a file is missing or damaged (jackart.srf)":arg:
now on the mad scale, i was a 2, so checking the disc directory i discover that the main srf files (jacattack, gibbsound, rnd1recap) were missing from the disc
skip ahead about 2 days (around yesterday), i am searching the tubes of the internet, trying to find the srf files in a megaupload upload. that is made more difficult as it seems that all of the ydkj downloads are torrents (which my computer refuses to download.
Did you purchase this game or was it...er...questionably acquired?
If you did purchase it through legal means (or if it was a gift bought for you), I would seriously consider giving the company that produced the game or the store that was selling the game a call. You shouldn't have to pay for something that doesn't work and is missing the correct files. The company and/or store should give you a refund and/or a replacement.
...If you acquired it by more questionable means though...I think you might be out of luck. ^^;;
"Hey, make up your mind. Am I a genius or a creep?"
"You're a creepy genius."
