I just wanted to tell you guys about my younger brother. He is in a rehab over in beautiful Destin, Florida because he is an opiate addict. A few months before, he went on a rampage, threatening to kill my mom and smashing the glass casing of an autographed poster on my wall.

The key words in that post are could have, but he didnt, because he had some sort of control over things. A threat towards your mom was probably made out of an opiate rage. I will admit, it may have been a scary situation for you and your family, but as I said, at least he is getting help in Florida. The thing you should focus on now is his recovery, not the idle threats made under the effect of opiates.

Yeah. He kept calling Mom some pretty bad things. One of the things he called her was "a moron".

As cruel and mean as that sounds that is true. He does however have every chance to get better on his will. He will be in my prayers along with you and your family.

What a person says while under the influence should not be used in the judgment of a person's character. He had little control over what he did and said because most of his brain was in heaven. Trust me, its interesting what people say when their drunk, things that they shouldn't say or didn't want anyone else to know. Its even worse if its something else besides alcohol. So forgive him for what he said, but not for what he did. Let him get clean.

Ah, yeah. But he has been refusing help, claiming that he actually was happier on drugs than off them.

Well duh that's a common excuse, since they think they are, when in reality it tears them up from the inside out.

I've heard about opium, its made from the chinese poppy. Man that is some bad stuff, it was in old times used as a sleeping potion and used to calm seizures. But in high doses it can bring on delerium, rage, and vivid hallucinations... I am glad you are alright T, its good that he is in recovery. Addiction is a very very dangerous thing. It is very decieving in that the person who is addicted believes that he or she is in control and has the power to choose when they want a dose of what ever they are addicted to but in reality that drug has the power over them. Different drugs have different reactions to those who are addicted... And different drugs have different amts of time to addict a person to them....

I am sure everything will turn out alright rehab and detox are what he needs gurl. Keep me posted.

He is still going through addict withdrawl thats probably what it is... Its really tough and makes some go certifiably insane.... It will pass sooner or later....

Good news, everyone! Zane's better. However, he is thinking about permanently moving to Florida so he can make a better life for himself.
